That's basically where the difference is. Skyrim is a game where you can totally ignore the story and basically make your own story from all the other options in the game world where in games like Risen, you're loosely following the main story and maybe taking on some basic side quests along the way.
Well, you still have a degree of freedom in Risen... it just had more focus on the main story than the Elder Scrolls games.
I just like it because of the depth and freedom you're given to follow any path you want and can have a totally different experience replaying it. Same reason why I liked Morrowind and Oblivion. RPGs like Risen are ok but they're a lot more restrictive.
Really though, I'm just curious as to how you can think Skyrim is better than Risen in terms of actually being a good RPG.
Yeah, well, so's your face.
And I only rate posts disagree if I disagree with them. Having the mindset of "they like a game I don't, they're just a fanboy" is flatout stupid
I don't rate Skyrim posts dumb unless they're declaring it the greatest RPG of our generation.
Okay you say that after rating every single post about Skyrim dumb. Okay. You're totally not a hypocrite or anything.
Blatant Skyrim fanboy alert!
