How can I make my map brighter?

First of all, I am kind of new at hammer. I am in the middle of building a map, and when I compiled it with RAD on, it was a little too dark, and there were very big, dark shadows for everything. I am using a blue sky skybox. Does anyone have any tips...

Prop_vehicle_prisoner_pod (Locking when inside the pod)

Some reason when players are in the pod, even when it's locked they can get in. When outside of the pod they cannot enter. Usually in like episode 2 you can't exit a pod if locked.
