while competition is a good motivator in some circumstances, there are much better ways to motivate people that dont cause widespread unrest, fear, and international divide. its not like anyone in the US would feel like they can control the mistakes the goverment is supposedly making with china, so instead of a motivator, it will just end up as a sort of "were fucked" mentality.
