I guess you know it's hard to future proof, if I were you I'd get a rig with a 660ti and a 3570k with 8GB RAM. People have bought a lot of EVGA cards so I guess you could purchase one of those along with the parts.

You can get a fairly decent one for $600 or if possible spend a little more for a very good card.
