Keep it simple, clean and, if it's what you like, minimalistic.
I for one would go with a really clean design - think MS' Metro without the outside strokes.

I never made any... I could make a design on Photoshop, but for the actually-coding-the-design-so-it-can-be-used-on-Tumblr part would be up to you :(
