Pretty sure he was inspired by this.
Uhh no we haven't renamed any of the servers... that's the virus.
LSN would have to completely redesign their infrastructure to offer in-house filtration for large attacks. Enterprise is just Black Lotus and they only offer like 1Gbps sustained on Black Lotus. The...
He shouldn't feel that bad -- it could have been a lot worse. He could have been this guy.
Do you know if he was taking anything to help him with anxiety for appearing on national television?...
Oh, whoops. I didn't notice port was missing from the commandline on that website. They really should update that - it's how I originally learned to host srcds servers back when CSS just came out.
Here you go. This is heavily outdated, but the commandline on "starting srcds" is more or less the same.
I've had servers available since 2012. Come back when you meet the requirements.
Shit, I ran a server back when I was like 14-15 on Garry's Mod 9 and had next to no money to my name at the time and that server lasted until GM10 at which point I branched out into multiple servers...
Yup if you meet the min requirements listed in the OP I can do up to 24 slots for you on the west coast at no charge.

Oh, I see you PMed me two days ago. I haven't been on Facepunch for a bit due to a drive failure and had to reinstall my OS. This really isn't the...
Because your insurance rates will likely go up if you get a ticket on your record and the cost of an attorney to handle the ticket is generally less then the cost of your premium increase.
I'm not aware of any gsp that forbids sourcebans. The webhost is where the issue usually is since 27015 is not a common port for web applications and some will not be willing to open it in their...
They could care less about where the server is hosted.
Right I'm just saying once you get hit with an attack your ISP is probably going to drop you.
It's your choice, nothing wrong with hosting from home -- as long as you understand that attacks do...
64 slots will generally use between 10Mbps and 15Mbps depending on bandwidth rates. I would not recommend hosting it at home unless you like being hit with 1Gbps-40Gbps+ attacks.
Hey look another docket sounding.
It might also be a corrupt section on the SSD. It's a long shot but they do degrade over time - once it hits 30%-40% left on the wear level indicator (using smarttools) then things tend to go pear...
Just got a dual L5420 setup to tcpdump traffic on a mirrored port. Instant 1.5 amp usage even idle - these things guzzle power. This is obviously the reason they are $99 on ebay.
Again, the node was being hit with multiple attacks large enough to disrupt traffic on Leasewebs network. If it was just cancellations I would have kept the node online and provided more time for my...
Keeping you online until the fifth of March in Germany is impossible as the node was taken offline on the first. I've already offered to provide you with a refund for your remaining four days in your...
I made the decision to go to a specialist and get knocked out with general anesthesia. I made this decision because three of my wisdom teeth were impacted and one of them was really close to a major...
Not to my knowledge. Not for home internet anyway.
Or you could only sell what you can actually support instead of overselling like a bitch. If I'm paying for 25Mbps transfer then I should be...
He doesn't meet the minimum requirements, but thanks for the rec!
Is this good or bad for JWJ?
The E5 you mentioned isn't on that order page.
OVH doesn't really have DDoS protection. What they have is a in-house filter called VAC that can tank most of the larger hits like RDNS reflection....
Can you tell me where you can get a $60/month dedicated server with ddos protection that can run 10 64 slot gmod servers? I might buy some myself.
tickrate set to 1, sv_minrate and sv_maxrate set to 1 and let them rip.
In all seriousness unless you want everyone to have a ping up in the 1000+ range and have massive packet choke you can't cut...
TTT? Deathrun? Zombie Survival? Cinema? All of these are fine with 60 players..
If you're willing to pay $40/hour go to a local community college and scout for people looking for work. You can find real talent there and you'd get to meet in person.
But yes assuming 400KB/s average for a 20 player TTT, you should be fine. This doesn't take into account FastDL or anything else running on the VPS.
Depends on your rates and what you're hosting. What gamemode?
The bandwidth is overpriced IMO.

10GB/s or Gb/s?
You won't find many hosts willing to tank that amount of bandwidth anyway on a game server because 10Gbps (commit) -...
I'll buy it for $50 (the whole thing, that is).
$75 is my offer. You don't have to take it, but with dual 5420's for $125 it's hard to justify spending $500 on old hardware like that. Especially since you can get a new E3 V3 for under $800.
$75 and I'll pay for shipping.
To confirm, two standard ethernet ports and then a dedicated IPMI port correct?
Are rails included? What chassis?
What processor? Dual, or single?
I fixed your mount.cfg. Restart the server for the changes to take affect.
Depends on several factors such as how loaded the node is and what CPU it is using.
You'll honestly run out of bandwidth long before needing to worry about the CPU on the single core packages....
I thought inmates could still receive and send mail?
Has anyone tried to contact JWJ yet to get his side of the story?
I've found the opposite to be true. For me, when I join servers with a lot of workshop items it takes almost a full hour to join because for some reason steam is sending me the files at...
Ultimately anything over 64 is going to require a optimized gamemode. My suggestion - code your own gamemode/admin system and avoid any addons/workshop items. 100 slots is indeed...
I've seen SRCDS use up to 2GB in some cases.
Doesn't matter. Windows and Linux will work fine for 50+ players. Pick the OS that you want to use :)
