Current state of development is I've got exams going on until the 12th, and my collision algorithm is all written out in a notebook somewhere!
10th June 2013
Bingo!
When I start making...
Oh, yep, I have optimisations disabled on the debug build. Tried with -O2 and the software version is still marginally faster, but not massively so (I suppose single-instruction implies in no way...
Yeah I was pretty sure it was down to a type cast (seeing as the FPU does all the calculations at 80 bits anyway?) but if the function's overloaded then you'd expect it to just use the float version...
They ought really to both be identical but the latter seems to be faster, odd... also seen some pretty big gains by using the quake inverse square root in the normalise() method, don't know if that...
Changed this:
float vec2f::length() const
{
return sqrt(x * x + y * y);
}
To this:
float vec2f::length() const
{
GCC 4.7.0sjlj, 4.7.1 and 4.8.0
Had a couple of hours free tonight, so I've been trying to get std::thread working on Windows, it's, erm, fun :v: program compiles etc. fine but I get a mysterious error as soon as threads are...
As far as I know you need to do the clipping in 3D space, then project the vertices that make up the resulting quad - there's no sensible way of representing a negative depth post-projection.
Running away is a threat now? :/
Wren: Hey John you seem to have a lot of ideas, how would you like to work for us?
[ALG] & [FL:RP] John R Arable: Ah
[ALG] & [FL:RP] John R Arable: Ok
[ALG] & [FL:RP] John R Arable: There is one...
[ALG] & [FL:RP] John R Arable: Look
[ALG] & [FL:RP] John R Arable: I am getting mad
[ALG] & [FL:RP] John R Arable: You MUST rehire Pac0
[ALG] & [FL:RP] John R Arable: Do you know how much people...
[ALG] & [FL:RP] John R Arable: Look
Wren: Now listen Mr. Arable.
[ALG] & [FL:RP] John R Arable: Why have you fired Pac0?
Wren: I would love to have pac0 back on board.
Wren: But first, your...
Hmm, post if you want to join? And then I can add on Steam, I don't have any of you guys.
Wren: Hello there John R Arable.
Wren: Are you having a nice day?
[ALG] & [FL:RP] John R Arable: Yes
Wren: Good!
[ALG] & [FL:RP] John R Arable: Im just dissapointed by the fact you have...
Laptop's on next to me while I'm working, wonder how long I can string this out for :v:

Ooh er, what should I say? :(
Looks like my steam was logged in overnight, I'll just...

Oh okay then.
I'll make a new thread when I can get back to development :v:
danharibo that's awesome! But I really can't :/
Wow! I was still looking more at GLFW+GWEN than Qt, but wow!
I understand there are still issues with MinGW + std::thread though? I'm assuming you're on some form of Linux.
blah
Damn, I want...
Looks like perl to me?
Sorry
Are you talking about the scheduler code?
If so then thanks :) but that code gets called 4 times per frame, while the spring update is more like 30,000? Each thread only enters its critical section...
I think I see how you've done collision.
If I can implement a good broadphase then it shouldn't be impossible, because then I can reduce the time-intensive part to a small fraction of the possible...
Oh wow I've got a title! :v:
No one can edit that page but Pac0. I don't think there's anything I can do to make things any more open or public...
(Just want to check you on the numbers, closer to £300)
He paid me for work done to date, and the right to distribute the binaries. I accepted in good faith and was happy to continue to do work,...
Any license can be terminated if there's a breach of license. Which there hasn't been. So I'm not going to. Hold your horses.
Are you the same guy who came in yelling about how I shouldn't DMCA...
I've posted a link to that computer on IGG.
Not entirely sure what he's done, but pretty sure people should be aware of it.
If it is his own money (or his parents') then he's obviously not in...
I... oh. I hope so too.
blah
Am I going to be rated optimistic for that? :/
Made an update on the tumblr.
This thread: illustrated guide to taking the fun out of programming :v:
I've already committed to having the IGG taken down. How would that work out?
That said I have no problem with giving every single backer a free copy of the game, refund or not.
I'd rather pac0 not...
I've got exams in a few days and I could have done without the stress. It's half past four in the morning.
Good night all.
For the work I've put in, for the hours of listening to every request. If I'd started off of my own back then yes, but if he wanted to act like I was hired help who'd implement every feature he...
As far as I'm aware, any funds over the goal go straight to the fundraiser's account.
I also think (although don't take this as fact) that he'd posted an "alternative" link on the IGG that went to...
Okay, thanks! Will do.
Could do with some myself...
He paid me for some of the programming work I did. He's also paid an artist for a logo, plus Greenlight fees and the Indiegogo cut.
I'm pretty damned certain that the money came from the campaign,...
You went off grabbing money without talking to the developer. You've paid me to program, which I've done. Let's not go into the time I stayed up until 3 in the morning for you getting multithreading...
Tamschi would you mind posting the previous page as well?
2.9.4 (latest)
Make sure you've got the OpenGL lib for it, that's what it's complaining about there.
(I built it from source, I don't know what sort of luck you might have with the various binary...
25 days ago the campaign was on $12. I didn't pay much attention.
Until a few days ago, I was happy to continue programming while you posted on the IGG and Greenlight pages you put up.
Then, you...
If the game goes on to be successful, I'll be there help you out with the financial consequences. But for now I'm not going to rest anything on that campaign. It's not the same campaign it started...
I feel bad for this, but you haven't left anyone with much room to work around you. You did take the risk.

I was indecisive because I thought we could help pac0 get through...
Right, pac0, mind's made up. IGG's got to go down.
I still do, but people wouldn't get their money back. It's a crap situation.
The smart thing to have done would have been to completely cut pac0 loose.
I shouldn't have tried to help him talk his...
...
blah
I'm not sure whether that's a lie or a misunderstanding.
Whether that will help I don't know... live in hope mate.
29th May 2013
Excuse me?
...I'm not sure if posting that will help.
I'm also not sure what you mean by "discussion" :/
Pac0 if I were you I'd act fast, before it gets nasty in those comments.
We've tried to help you out but you took the risk when you went grabbing people's money, and you haven't helped yourself at...
Ideally, campaign would be closed, and everyone would get their money back. I go on to develop the game, everyone's happy.
That's not going to work though. Besides IGG taking their 9% cut, there's...
