What kind of experience do you have in motorsports?
How long have you been driving? What have you driven? Can you drive manual?
Anything Ducati should be cause for excitement.
They make anti-fog sprays, I personally can't comment on them as I haven't used the bottle that I bought so long ago.
Only other advice is get a helmet with better ventilation.

I sort of half-heartedly helped work on some Nismo edition R34 GT-T, and then worked on my car next to it so i could drive it home without dragging my exhaust...
You can get a pretty decent FD RX-7 in japan for like $3000, I kind of wanted to import one, and then remembered i know nothing about rotaries.

I think an SV650 is a good starter bike.
It's pretty fast at first, but not so powerful it's going to 12'o'clock on you or break traction, but fast enough that you aren't going to loathe riding...

Yeah, 250 would suck, I've had my 650 twin for around 3 weeks now and it's starting to feel like a moped.
Another thing is that a 650 twin is that it's probably the fastest your going to get...
While a Supersport 600 can be learned on, which I almost did, I got a 2003 suzuki sv650 and it felt pretty damn fast the first time I rode it.
The power of a SS 600 can hinder your learning...
