9/18/09 Pack A's Screen shots for a new map of project down was released today. Antlions and Combine?(NOTE lighting is brighter in game.)
9/8/09 Introduction map will be finished today, WIP of it at bottom of op. Video of full map will be up by end of tonight.
9/7/09 Was on vacation, back now, lots of work to do. Map shots of new intro will be released today. EDIT: Video Up Now.
8/25/09 Pack B's screen shots of map 3 has been released!! Expect pack C in the upcoming days!!

Story Intro Marcus Coons has been sent from his tranquil home of the White Forest Resistance base to masquerade as a normal citizen transferring from another urban centre. His real intentions, as with the rest of his team, are to infiltrate the heart of the Citadel and to plant a small device into its innards, to spy on the Combine's communications and learn their every move before they make it.

The task is of such gravity that all of these makeshift warriors would give their lives to ensure success.

But I've been watching Mr. Coons for some time, and he shows great opportunity for future employment. And that requires he stay well alive.



This is a single player mod that requires episode 2 and will be taking place during half life 2.
We have all the memebers we need except a Faceposer, we need someone who can lip sync someone talking for faceposer.

Just so you know, when it says classified information, there is a big 45-50 custom sequence with e-man talking to you then you get "woken up" in that hallway. You go to the door and Jason(the rebel opens the door) In next version he will say something and be animated, have to get faceposer part done. When you get pushed back you hear e-man whispering Not yet...(not time to die yet) but on the recording's sound it did'nt come through. Also at some points when it seems REALLY dark it is a bit lighter in the map.

Hehe thanks for the reply. We got a new skin for g-man so he is not The G-man just a employer. He has a Black Suit, a Red Tie and a Goatee.

It says that probably because he has not updated it for awhile, so they think it's been "discontinued" until he posts something new

Well we made it today but we didn't get enough stuff up fast enough so it closed, we told them to re-open it. When it does we'll add new stuff.

We also have a new skin for him, he has a goatee and a black suit with a red tie( so it isn't g-man but a.. Employer )

There are so many issues with the map that you needed to fix before releasing the video.

The first is the fact you kept being killed by the benches. The player should be in a position where that cannot happen. Of course, whenever something breaks or is thrown across the room everything looks forced and jerky. A table will hit the wall, then break up a few seconds later. Also, everything goes to the same wall, there is no variation.

When the lights flicker, the models stay lit. This makes the lighting look very unrealistic. The combine door ruins the small human cafeteria feel. The flare is unneeded, as is the idea of the vent. You continue down the vent, pick up the crowbar, then turn back...why? Throw in that there is no atmosphere in the map...it feels too stale.

As a last point, why would the gman appear like that. If he wants to make his presence known he usually walks up to his victim and tells them straight.

He isn't G-Man he is an employer(E-man)

One, its better in the updated version, you go in vent, realize its a dead end and you hear a bottle break behind you.

1. Needs a different model as people associate that one with gman
2. Slightly better...
3. Good
4. Not a good idea...no one wants to be killed that early on by something so stupid

Overall though, with that amount of bugs in there, why show that off? It's like a car company splashing adverts around for the fastest, stylish, most responsive car ever then putting up an image of a Rover 75. When you show off work, make it look the best you possibly can or people start getting impressions of it that perhaps you don't want.

Our new version explains it, In our new map, your in a hallway. You see a vent shaft with a grate over it, you obviously cant pull it out. You go in other room ( Tim ran right to vent ) and went in, he happened to find a crowbar so when he goes back to the other room to break the grate and go in That vent since the one he found crowbar in was a dead end, E-Man came up so he was like Whoa. Then when he walks to door he fell into a hole.

Not sure if it's possible, but is there not some way to make the props go around the player? I've never used Hammer or anything so I don't know :/

You need to make the props prop_physics_multiplayer, then you can't get killed by them ever, and make sure to make the trigger_push only go on for a second, and not forever, that way the props aren't forced into the wall. What did you guys think of my background map anyways. It's gonna be changed to have scanners and stuff going around, but not yet.

1. The props still looks very unrealistic the way they are pushed into the wall. They look forced, and ultimately crap.
2. The room still doesn't have much of an atmosphere.
3. The combine door is still in there, it completely detracts from the rest of the map. I suggest you stick with a theme and run with it.
4. The vent to find the crowbar just looks wrong. Possibly a better way to do it would be going into a kitchen area or storage room and finding it there next to some crates. Randomly finding it in a vent that just so happens to not have a grate- looks suspicious.

Last question, are you testing this before you release a video, these are all points you should be picking up on immediately.

The background map looks like you have taken a section of hl2 and shoves a bunch of combine and rebels in. Nothing really original.
