CONFIRMED RELEASE DATE: November 24, 2009

Video including gameplay and information

The Basics

This first "in a series" DLC is based on the classic novel The Island of Dr Moreau. Players looking for zombie fighting action will have the task of keeping the workers of Jakob's Cove (the place where it is set) alive. Dr Ned (no, not related to Dr Zed in Fyrestone) is doing his job a little too well, and creates zombies and abominations in an attempt to keep the workers alive. They run rampant in the region, and you have to work alongside Dr. Ned on a quest to cure the inhabitants of the Cove.

New Content

• Whole new region, Jakob's Cove.

• New undead enemies.

• New quests.

• New unique weapons.

• 5 new trophies/achievements.

Cost

$9.99 for PS3 or 800 Microsoft points for Xbox360

Release Date

Not yet confirmed, only that it will be before the end of the year. (Available on all platforms.)

Trivia

•Jakobs Cove is owned by Jakobs, the weapon manufacturer of high quality hand crafted weapons (by zombies!)

The psychos were some of my favourite enemies in the game, hopefully the zombies will build on this and be incredibly awesome.

Of course there's going not going to be zombie killing. Obviously Dr. Ned airlifted a shitload of skags onto the island so you can kill them for no reason relevant to the game itself. Nevermind the fact that there's an island full of zombies, the design of which points towards a brutal and malicious nature, and that there are pictures of the vault hunters shooting said angry-looking zombies.

No offense, but how many times were you dropped on your head as a child?

HEY KIDS IT'S TIME FOR

DID YOU KNOOOOOOW

Did you know that Microsoft sets the price on DLC on the Xbox 360 platform, not the developer?! And this in many cases leads to discrepancies between costs on platforms. Sometimes PC users even get stuff for free!

Wow!

THAT'S ALL FOR TODAAAAAAYYYYYY!

The Steam overlay has a DLC button for games with DLC available, such as Killing Floor.

Fucking thank you, first people are asking how much it's going to cost, and secondly they're asking if there are going to be any new enemies. IT'S NOT LIKE I BULLET POINTED "NEW UNDEAD ENEMIES" AND THERE ARE SCREENSHOTS SHOWING THEM.

To be honest this isn't enough content for me. Sure, the area itself looks cool but what's the fun of finding premade weapons? You'll probably throw them away eventually anyways. I was hoping it'd raise the level cap and maybe even add some new features.

They're announcing it only a few weeks after the game has been released, and you expect a sequel?

Not a sequel, something like what Broken Steel did for Fallout 3. More of an expansion pack then a DLC.

Eh, I don't know if I'll buy it. It would be cool if the DLC contained things that expand on the normal gameplay, like new types of guns, or different pieces of armor rather than shields, but DLC like this just seems really bland... Pay $10 to make the game last about 20 minutes longer...

• New unique weapons.

Possibly new weapon types. Who knows.

Personally I'd like some visual customization update.

That just means we're going to get more weapons with special names. I was thinking something that would constitute a new proficiency, like grenade launchers, or something similar to a flamethrower (but shooting any of the four elements), or random melee weapons.

I'd like ice weapons. I mean, we get acid, fire, lightning, and explosions, but no ice? I'd love to freeze someone and then break them into millions of pieces.

This is one of the things I want. Just giving you some new guns would be stupid since you'll probably find better ones right after anyways. New weapon TYPES on the other hand... Also that flamethrower idea sounds great.
