Combat Mission Shock Force:
Suppressed from a distance with a Stryker, then rolled up on them and flanked from the side with an Infantry squad to finish them off as they proned out, covering their heads for cover
Edited:
a little more strategy is required in games that lack basebuilding, considering you have to manage your units and drop zones wisely.
Which is why I like the above game, and the Close Combat series, C&C and the like is fun, but single player only, where Spamming tanks isn't the only way to win
If you haven't ever given Combat Mission Shock Force a try I recommend it, Sure it has some Camera Control issues every now and then, other than that it's fantastic, Suppression, even if you can't see the enemy, works, then flanking because they'll be face first in the dirt hoping not to get hit, ambushing, Anti Tanks... Squads spotting each other from clear across the map and having engagements, They even switch to their M203's and fire them, and you can watch them arc in the air towards their target
Splitting one squad into two, having one half fire at a building, whether you know it's occupied or not, and have the second enter it, only to find 6 guys laying down hoping not to get hit, and your guys popping them all off and securing it, I prefer the Hit and Run method myself... camp a spot, hit them once they roll up on it, then fall back to another one close by, watch them throw indirect fire in the area you were in before they try that path again. It's hardcore RTS. or you can play in Turn Mode
