Modulus Software Presents... MuseX

Info: MuseX is a multimedia player for Garry's Mod. It has the ability to play a multitude of audio formats, including, but not limited to MP3, Wave, Ogg Vorbis, Windows Media Audio, and Midi. MuseX allows you to browse and play music from any directory, on any drive on your computer, with it's fully functional media browser.

Features:
  • Fully functional media player, supporting seek and volume.
  • Playlists.
  • Support for a multitude of audio formats, anything you have codecs for.
  • Hotkeys.
  • Visualizations - Currently disabled.
  • Browse any location on your computer for media.
  • Special Derma skin system allows you to create your own skins without affecting the rest of your Derma panels.

Other Info: This was a collaboration between Foszor and I. He wrote everything you see. I wrote what you don't see, the module. The visualizations are disabled because in the initial version we had some crashing issues we'd like to fix before releasing those.

Installation:
  1. Extract musex.zip into your garrysmod\addons directory.
  2. Run install modules.bat, this will copy the modules to the required directories.

Usage:
  • To open MuseX type musex into the console.
  • Alternatively you can use the hotkey Ctrl+Shift+M.

Everything about this is perfect apart from the fact that the hotkeys editor doesn't detect media keys (play/pause, stop, next/back) on my keyboard.

Cool!

I always wanted something like this, and the VGUI codecs system and the file browser are epic.

That is the best looking media player for a game that I've ever seen, downloading now.

Also, Lua King for you!

Yay you released!

Great work as always. Now I can listen to music whilst riding your hoverboards :D

Can you broadcast other songs to people on your server?

Or would that require downloading the songs?

I know BASS can stream audio, but I dunno about DirectShow.

Besides, that would be a large performance hit - you'd have to upload the sound to everyone as you play it - it'd kill your upload and they'd most likely time out with a fair amount of people on the server.

Yeah I suppose it would be nice to have but I guess it is impractical.

It won't find hidden or system folders. My Music may be considered a system folder.

Oh ok and thanks for the fast reply but for the mean time i just put the folders into the documents folder and finds them fine but any way you can add an add folder to playlist option for faster music adding

Oh found a nifty fix for the my music problem if you delete the my music made by windows and remake it by adding new folder and name it my music windows will still notice it as my music but musex will still see it

That is the single most greatest derma menu I have ever seen!

And the smooth none laggy music!

Best addon of 2008 to me so far.

Jinto and Foszor, you have out done yourselves again. :D

Hey Jinto the shortcut keys don't work and you can't change the binds through the GUI, only in the console.
