greenpois0n turned out to be shit. It doesn't work.

I had to restore five times before it successfully managed to jailbreak my phone.

I just successfully used limera1in to jailbreak my iPod Touch 4th Gen. I can't use Wi-Fi right now so I can't install Cydia yet.

Because 1) at the first try I accidentally put it in recovery mode
2) the other tries weren't successful (white cydia icon etc.)

You can get out of recovery mode by using the program called "RecBoot"

Everyone who is worried about greenpois0n should just use limera1n since it works perfectly fine.

Settings on your itouch, you should be able to view device info somewhere, somewhere at the model of your device, it should contain either 'MB' or 'MC'

So what I did was:
Launch limera1n and run it
after my device rebooted, nothing really happened
I went to itunes and asked to restore it with the 4.0 firmware
It successfully restored to that firmware

I can't get limera1n or greenpois0n to work. Limera1n just sits there saying it's waiting for the device and greenpois0n doesn't detect that it's in DFU mode. Iphone 3G fw4.1

What the dikes, I tried limera1n and it went smoothly but it is not jailbroken, the process was fast and easy then my phone boots up without the rain drop and no signs of jailbroken shit.

alright i'm jailbreaking a 2g 4.1 as we speak, but its been stuck at a specific part at uploading ramdisk for a while now, is it messed?
now the iphone rebooted and the updating ramdisk thing is still going, what the hell?
well redsn0w is a piece of shit, two times i tried and both freeze at one point, fuck this.

The TinyUmbrella "SHSH Server" have only been tested for iPhone 4 BB firmware update protections. Theoretically, it should work for all other iphones, but it have not been tested yet.

tryed sn0wbreeze, but i get an error 40 when i try to restore with the custom firmware in itunes. anyone know a fix?

Going to wait until 4.2 is out before jailbreaking again. It's a major pain in the ass to back everything up.
