Upgraded my iPhone 3G to 4.2, tried to jailbreak it using limera1n but I got stuck at the "in DFU mode...wait", had to use TinyUmbrella to get it out of DFU Mode, what did I do wrong?

So I restored my iPhone 3GS to 4.2.1 and JB/Unlocked it. Then I realized that it has to be tethered to reboot. :C

Now I want to revert back to 4.1 but I keep getting errors (1015). I'm using iTunes 9 and tinyumbrella to help with the restore. Any ideas?

I'm on a jailbreaked iPhone 3G with iOS4.1 and baseband 05.12.01. Ultrasn0w won't remove the carrier lock. It just says No Service or display one single bar (still won't connect shit). Anyone know what's going on?

Apparently you can't update with this new baseband, you need to use custom IPSW's or something.

Put my phone into recovery mode and restored from the 4.2.1 firmware that I had used to jailbreak my phone, but got an error 1015. Now my phone is stuck in recovery mode and I can't boot it up anymore.

Using TinyUmbrella doesn't work because the phone just exits recovery for ~1 minute and after that it goes back into recovery mode again. I'm really scared that I've given myself a $400 paperweight - Could someone help me?

It's impossible to brick it. Put it into DFU mode and restore.

Winterboard (if you really want it too look different)
SBSettings
Other misc. tweaks. Check youtube and browser for top Cydia apps and such.
Oh, and emulators, they're always fun.

You don't need OpenSSH technically, if you can find a working MobileTerminal and get a graphical program for browsing your phones file structure you can do it without installing OpenSSH.

But it can be useful at times.
