iPad has arrived, let's boot it up and check it's firmware for the jailbreak.
Dam it's 4.3.5
Tether jailbreak or wait for iOS 5
I am not traveling much and my iPhone is always going to School and some other places, i also take my charging cable with me, i got 4.3.5 and i tether jailbroken it
As soon the battery dies i plug it in my PC and 5 minutes later everything is working again
So, can you downgrade a 4.3.5 iPad 2 3G to a other firmware?
I don't mind a tethered jailbreak but I've got a iPad 2 3g, I believe it's aint supported correct?
Oh right, sorry did not saw that.
Yeah its not supported yet, pretty sure they will also make a version for the iPad tho
Apple currently signs iOS 4.3.5 and 4.3.4 they are both pretty much the same in most ways and they are both tethered only.
But then again, if you are near a power source all the time, or you are using it in your home alot. Then i would just say to update your iOS to 4.3.4 and install Redsn0w.
I found a possible way to downgrade your iPad 2 3G/WiFi from 4.3.5 to 4.3.3 to do a untethered Jailbreak
1. Download the required iPSW file from here.
2. Once you’ve downloaded the required IPSW file, put your iPad in DFU mode. If you don't know how to put in DFU mode, read the next edit
3. Now open up TinyUmbrella and click the 'Start TSS Server' button.
4. Launch iTunes, choose your device from the left sidebar. Hold down the left “Shift” key if you’re on Windows or hold down the left “alt” key if you’re on a Mac and click on “Restore”. A new pop up will open asking you for the location of the IPSW file. Now navigate to the IPSW you downloaded.
1. Connect your iPad into your PC
2. Shutdown your iPad
3. Hold the power button for about 3 seconds
4. Then keep holding the power button, but also press the Home button
5. Hold those 2 till the screen goes black
6. As soon it turns black you wait 1-2 seconds and you release the Power button, so you only got the Home button pressed
7. Now wait till iTunes or Windows/Mac says they found a iPad (namehere) in DFU-Mode
Tried, didn't work.
Thanks though, I got a this device isn't eligible for the requested build
Is there anyway to restore without deleting the profiles? I want to restore the iPad to 4.3.4 but I already accidently restored 4.3.5, and its a school iPad (I need the profile for wi-fi access and shit), what DO?
I don't think you can downgrade but you can always reinstall the profile!
First thing i would say is that you should make a back-up using iTunes
Secondly, you cannot downgrade unless you got the SHSH blob from 4.3.3
I can reinstall it, HOWEVER I don't have it, and if I say I "accidently" restored my iPad (saying I'm going to jailbreak ruins insurance), they'll probably get suspicious
Hey guys, i'm on 3.1.3. I have lockinfo, and cydia keeps downloading the cracked one from sinfuliphonerepo even though it's working fine. Other than uninstalling that source, what can i do?
Many people where afraid of jailbreaking being afraid that their warranty would fall. but they won't
So I got myself an ipad 2 today. Running 4.3.5 so no jailbreakme.com.
Tried Limera1n but it just ended with be being pretty nervous for a while and then itunes picked up on it and started to restore it.
Am I completely out of luck for any jailbreaks at the moment or is there something that works (tethered or not doesn't matter)? The last few pages here just seem to say there's something tethered but never anything more specific than that.
I'm not very sure about the jailbreaking status for iPad 2, as far as i know you are stuck with a unjailbroken iPad 2 till iOS 5 is released, and iOS 5 is coming very close
A new version of Redn0w was released today. It doesn't require any firmware files unless you're jailbreaking iOS 5 :D. Works on all devices expect the iPad 2. Version number 0.9.9b
Since just about any jailbreak that ever shows up doesn't support iPad 2 what is it that makes you all think it'll be possible in ios 5?
iOS 5 beta builds. All of them are jailbroken
And the difference between public and beta build of a iOS version is really nothing, except 1-2 bug fixes maybe
Now we just need to wait until iOS 5
I don't really use my iPod touch for anything aside from music and safari, is it worth it to jailbreak it? I had it jailbroken in the past and restored it after almost trading it. I never really felt the need to re-jailbreak it, but what do you guys think?
Installed Mac OSX Utlimatum on my iPhone, works superb.
I say just do it and browse the Cydia store, also depends on your iOS of course
If you got 4.3.4 or higher then you gotta do Tethered
4.3.3 and lower?
"Not supported on iPod touch (2nd generation)"
I got a 2nd gen iPod touch running 4.2.1
