Think I'll stick with that then. Roll an aks74, pasgt, flora and smersh. Having some second thoughts on blowing 300 dolla on it though.

probably a modernized variant

thing is, I think the more advanced units get more publicity (mostly VDV, alfa, vityaz, etc) so you don't see as much pictures of the conscripts wearing older equipment with older rifles (note the second to last picture AK74 with wooden furniture) because obviously Russia doesn't want to give an impression that they equip their regular troops with 60 year old equipment

The pictures you posted also have no dates on them so it's impossible to tell if these in fact are recent pictures of conscripts in second rate units or VDV soldiers in Chechnya during the 90's. Although I do agree with you that the conscripts in the second rate units would have older stuff, they are far from the generic modern Russian soldier, which would be the Digital Flora, 6Bxx, 6Shxx kit because that's what Russia shows us as being their generic soldier.

RA wiki says kosovo, but technically wouldn't the conscript be the generic soldier because afaik that's what makes up the bulk of the Russia militari

As Russia downsizes and modernizes their armed forces I'm sure we'll see a lot less of that older stuff though. If you look at the recent pictures in the Russian military thread on militaryphotos.net there's Digital Flora everywhere.

I swear, I'm in a team where we're doing a conscript loadout and all those pictures where the soldiers are wearing old equipment are fucking hard to find and the only ones we can find a chechen and ossetian war snapshots where the soldiers are in actual combat and the public image person wasn't present to make all the infantry look like FUTURE FORCE WARRIOR

Sad part is it doesnt fit me. But into the team supply it goes for future members or current members needing replacement.

Not as thick as I expected but it does not breathe super well. I could probably ski in it fine in the spring, and airsoft in it fall to spring.
