You may begin to see videos popping up on youtube of various testing sessions and such. I had a fantastic session last night and bar a few minor fixes it feels 'done'. I need a few hours after work to write some emails, add one last thing, test, compile and package.

Heh, maybe we should roleplay a bit, like assign different people to different devices/ tools and have them lead out a ghosthunting-exhibition, and have the rest stay back in the camera room and watch :3
I've done this before in ghosthunt 1 and it was funner than it sounds. I recommend we do this.

Got a dilemma now. Sent it to about 7 clients last night, final test etc. On 4 of those clients it didn't work. The other three it works fine. We've all tried clearing our gmod folder etc no addons. I'm clueless as it does not provide us with an error, it literally says "hl2.exe has stopped responding."
So right now it looks like it's selective in terms of what it's going to run on and until I can pin down whats stopping it from running on other machines I can't release it (Which is what I was going to do today.) Very fustrating.
EDIT - I should have clarified It crashes as the map loads.

Wow, problem after problem, atleast it didn't crash on all clients. You might want to make a thread for this on the mapping section and see if anyone can help you there.
Coul it be possible that it doesn't work for those that don't have +r_hunkalloclightmaps in launch options? Just a random idea.
It's been narrowed down to garrysmod. It runs on all clients in Episode 2 but crashes in single and multiplayer in garrysmod. (For those 4 clients that it was crashing on. Works as intended for the others)
Well, if it helps at all you might be able to get them to give you their crash dump files, which are .mdmp files and should be located in their /<steam name>/garrysmod folder. Hope that helps finding the cause at least!
So close, yet so far! Atleast this time the flaw isnt part of you map ( i hope not =P ) but actually Gmod.
Fingers crossed for this being the final hurdle, i dont care if i have to be patient for another month. This map is damn worth it, and so is it's auther and crediters.
Also cant wait for future projects from you if you plan on any =D

This evening is revealing some more issues.
I can run a server, and it runs fine. If my testers try to join they all crash. So when they run a server and I try to join - I crash.
I just don't understand. I'm clueless. =(

The same thing happens with ghosthunt 1, I honestly don't know what the deal is, but We're crossing our fingers that you find something. =)
So here it is.
If the server creator runs GH2 right off the bat - It's connectors and possibly it's client will crash.
However.
If the server creator first runs a normal map (Say gm_flatgrass) Then changes it to ghosthunt, they can play - and then everybody else can join. So strange.
I am glad you figured it out, hopefully no other problems occur I can't wait!!!!!
It Seems like everything on a gmod map startup (Placed npcs, rt cameras etc) seems to have its problems. I wonder if Garry (or some source coder) could ever pin down the cause of these bugs in the Garry's Mod. Since Every other Source Games features work fine, this for once most likely doesn't have anything do with Valve screwing something up.
thank god i was gonna ask you to remake gm_ghosthunt 1 if you dident find a solution for gm_ghosthunt 2 but remaking gm_ghosthunt 1 seems like a good idea

So it's either putting instructions with the map how to play it or try to figure out the problem (wich probably has to do with gmod)
It's so client selective right now. I don't even know what makes it work on one and not on the other. The stuff we tried last night seemed to work but this morning on other clients the map still isnt loading despite that. The funny thing is, Ghosthunt 1 isnt loading either. And they are vastly different.
Anyhow I've got a video to upload at somepoint of last nights stuff. Contemplating on when to release this. Don't want to release it and have 9 out of 10 clients crash.
How about you do a public beta test, and create a steam group page for it. Anyone who fails to connect could post their specs, addons or other things that you think might cause problems. That way you'd get a much larger sample size of people with the problem and you could look for some common factor in all of them that might be causing the problem. Although, it would be a lot of work to wade through it all.
I don't think its your map. I honestly think this is garrysmod. I've seen this issue on other servers and maps. I dono what it is but it is annoying.
Hmm.... Have you tried unmounting some source games?
