ok so im new to steam, i was just wondering before i spend more money on steam games. if i buy a game on steam does that mean i get all its contents in gmod like the hl and cs series? I want to know about other games that steam offers, for example steam offers streetfighter 4. I would assume only valve games apply but i just wanted to confirm.

If you were going to get any, I'd suggest getting the Orange box and the Source Multiplayer Pack, less than you'll pay for it all separate.

I don't think L4D 1 or 2 work with Gmod anyway.

GM_mount2 supports all source based mods and games. That includes L4D and L4D2
