Okay, so I've played one match of airsoft so far and loved it. The game was fun, it was 2 vs. 1... Me and my friend with M3 tri-burst shotguns (mine was a newer model) against our neighbour who owns an old full metal AK. I'm looking into getting an M4. Now, I now you are all going to say "Don't buy Airsoft Megastore, the guns suck". I know this, and I'm not expecting for the gun to last even half a year, I just want one to shoot at targets and use if we play another game. My request is for you experts out there to give me your opinion of this, and please don't refer me to a $100+ gun YET*, as I'm only considering buying this.
*: I'm 15 and don't a job yet. But if I do get one, I'll be happy to use your suggestions get a better rifle.

I suppose if it were only for backyard skirmishes, then that would be fine.
Keep in mind, it'll probably break < three months.

The gun is good for beating your opponents to death with perhaps, even then it would probably break. It's a pretty bad gun. Also, backyard games aren't always the best idea.

I know that you don't want to spend over a hundred bucks, but if you convince your friends and shit and have the money, you could go for a Combat Machine M4. Off the top of my head, I can't think of under-100 dollar priced M4's other than that one, it's easy to find a cheap AK though.

We're getting pretty frustrated with people bombarding in and not understanding how we run this subforum, and crapping up the section with threads like so.

How much research have you done? Airsoft is getting pretty popular, especially in the US. Do some more searching around. I'm sure there's a field close to you.

Yeah, right now you'd be better off just keeping your tri-shot. Even among "professional" players, those things are well respected, and for good reason. I'd say wait until you can afford/get for Christmas a Combat Machine M4, they're durable and cheap.

i play without eye pro because im part of a super secret and elite crew of airsofters who play with customized GBRs that shoot 500+ fps and the games last for weeks at a time.

Your comment reminded me of some crazy story a Furry airsofter made up. Jarek or something who runs "RED DRAGON AIRSOFT" out of his bedroom claims to do exactly what I just said, except I believe he "custom made" a JG AK that fires 500 FPS or something fucking stupid.

You're a smart guy, then. A lot of newbs don't think to/want to use eye protection...you don't want to get the nickname blinkie.
I'm going to echo the exact same thing you just heard from everyone else: forget about it if it's much less than $100 (a JG AEG or two used to be under a hundred, but I think the prices went up). Even some in the $100+ range are horrible (for instance, my CA Sportline is absolutely terrible. I'm looking into getting a VFC M4 E-series. So, word of advice, avoid Classic Army's sportline M4s at least, because I hear horrible things about them in general that line up with my experience very well). Is your tri-shot a rebranded $20 Wal-Mart junker, or did you get it somewhere more reputable? If it wasn't from Wal-Mart/another chain, cost you more than ~$30-40, and isn't a heap of clear plastic, keep it for now and save your money. It's probably not a bad gun. When/if you get enough, try the G&G Combat Machine M4. I hear it's wonderful (though, if you feel like being a little bit less generic, you could try going with the AK combat machine instead). Even though fake recoil ist wunderbar, unless you feel like dishing out 30 more bucks, stay away from the Combat Machine with electric blow back.
You mentioned a neighbor guy, though. You guys didn't play in the open street, did you...?

im p sure i saw a news thing on youtube with a kid on it that got his eye shot out by a airsoft gun. maybe it was a bb gun/pellet gun though.

There haven't been any recorded instances of someone losing an eye because on every website, every gun manual and box, every forum, they warn you to use eye protection.

I've been shot in the eye by someone on accident by a little 1911 springer from like 15 feet away, don't let it happen to you guys, it hurls like hell.
