Man, I had no idea how great their lineup was. That's really impressive. And only 50$ for tickets... This is just another reason I wish I lived in California.
They seem to be getting more and more people on the bill with each year just peep the line-ups from the last couple of years:

Yeah, it's definitely getting bigger. But each different year has people I really want to see. 2009, especially: Atmosphere, Brother Ali and Eyedea and Abilities all together would have been great. One day I'm going to go to one of these. Have you been?
Nah i'm definitely gonna try to make it to this year's show though. My bro went to the '09 show, I really gotta ask him how it was

If you like Gangstarr check this out:
The song that got me into rap.
I hope you listen to better rap nowTHIS IS A JOKE BY THE WAY
Anyone else heard this yet?
Damn, that's as stacked as rock the bells.
Anyone else hear Lupe's new song?
[URL]
I like the beat and Lupe's part, but Skylar Grey's part sounds kinda...angsty.
some songs i'm bangin' lately:
really gets me in the mood for the superbowl
I know some of them are pretty mainstream but they're really good pump up songs
anyone into nas?
www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRXbS9L-3qU
Nas? Who's Nas?
im making a cd called "prison yard workout"
help me pick somewhat clean (for in school) classic rap and hiphop tracks
What exactly do you mean by prison yard workout? What type of songs are you looking for?
Why are you calling it prison yard workout if your asking for clean rap you can play in school? haha
I'd think of Prison yard hip-hop to be like DMX 'I'll rape your dead body you *expletive deleted* and then I'll *expletive deleted* your *expletive deleted* whilst all the other *expletive deleted* all be runnin' and cryin' like little *expletive deleted* you *expletive deleted*'
yes just when you watch a movie and there are tattooed black men bench pressing, it's the music you hear in the background as the creative director does about 6/7 different camera cuts of the yard
THAT type of music
You know they don't even have exercise equipment in most prisons, let alone boomboxes.
Party Up - DMX
Got it.
Prison yard = Ghostface.
Edited:
Also Beanie Siegel, Freeway, Capone, Noriega, Scarface lol.
This right here, any of DMX's pissed of tracks, which is pretty much all of them
Green and Yellow
Appropriate because I hate the Steelers.

the concept is good, just lil wayne isn't as good imo
I agree, he isn't my favorite at all. My favorite rapper is easily B.o.B.
Smooth as silk.
Anyone listen to Childish Gambino? It's Donald Glover from Derrick Comedy and Community rapping. It's pretty good, really clever lyrics
speakin of nas
killah priest ft nas
don't you forget Public enemy, boy.
Oh I see
cultural voyeurism
Can someone recommend some good grime artists, like wiley?
Snoop Dogg.
I actually love the premsies of rap. Spontaneous poetry requires ingenuity. But why must it always convey stupid messages? It's either about being better than others, sex or money.
It has such great potential, but it's thrown away, it's completely acceptable in rap battles, most are very witty, but I get tired of listening to "Fuck bitches with wads of money sprinkled with cocaine erryday".
Or maybe I'm completely wrong.
Part of being an MC is being (or at least making yourself out to be) as much of a badass as possible. You can't move the crowd if you're just some guy with a microphone.
or maybe you don't listen to any rap music and assume it's all about bitches
But the emotion should come from the music itself, not the guy who's playing it. And why must you be badass to move the crowd? Why not any other personality that's just as vibrant?
True, I don't listen to a lot of rap music, but I do know that the classics (the ones thought of to be the best) are considered to be 2pac and Biggie Smalls, and the sort, right? And if I remember correctly, their music is centered mostly about warfare and the whole East/West caost thing, right?
Again, if I'm wrong, correct me and I'll be on my way.
