Ahh fair enough, guess I'll major in those at the beginning and expand to my own set of skills later on.
Also, HURRY UP STEAM AND GIMME MY CD KEY!

Yes, but it's not that amazing.
Finally got my CD key, wanted to install Diplomacy from here:
http://www.mbrepository.com/file.php?id=1887
but it comes up before the install saying that it will most likely not work with the version of the game I have? Should I ignore it? Or can someone link me to the correct version for the steam version of the game?
The game was recently updated for the DLC, so a lot of mods haven't been updated for it yet. You'll have to wait for the mods to be updated or hope that they'll still work.
Pathfinding is a party skill, so I would just give it to one of your heroes, and use your points for something else.
You'll also really want to give surgery to someone, it's very helpful in the early game.
got warband but can't shell out for the DLC
are there any warband mods that have the same feel as M&M?
mass formations, teamwork etc
I told the King to help me siege the final Swadian castle. He started the siege, then sat outside.
It's been about 20 days, and he won't leave so that I can siege it myself, and he won't begin the attack.
Any way to get him to leave?
Well the combat system in regular Mount and Blade is completely outdated and worthless. The animations look ridiculous and none of the many balance fixes and important changes were put back into the original. I can't fathom any reason why someone would want to buy it instead of Warband.
Maybe Star Wars: Conquest...
Maybe FP could make it's own regiment for Napoleonic Wars to mess around in online games with. I hate playing in a sever and just be mindlessly running around with the other players.
Ahhh! trying to trade Dead Space pack + dota 2 tradable for M&B pack + dlc.. not working at all..
spent the whole day trying lol ugh
Can you gift dlc?
Leaked M&B2 alpha screenshots:

I second this.
Oh my god, this looks ... exactly the same!
Damn, I really was hoping they would use a more open engine.
Edited:
I honestly hope those are fake.
How come every time i fight it says for example "you have 50 fit troops to fight", and in battle many less actually appear (about 25)?
I'm sure I give them rest after each battle, and have food and morale up. Someone help, I'm a noob at this game.
Is napoleonic wars worth getting even if I'm not a part of a regiment or have any friends who will play it?
I hope for separate nations and boat travel between them.
The game has a max battle size, as in how many troops can be on the map at a time. It gives half of that size to you and half to your enemy if both your armies exceed that max. When enough of your troops die, you get reinforcements from the troops left over the cap and the same applies to your enemies.
The cap can be adjusted in the options, up to 200 I think, and if you want to go over that, you need the Battle Size enhancer mod/tool.
What do Drums/Flags do? Or are they just there for swag.
Try setting battle scale higher in settings.
If the scale is set to 50, then, if you have 50 troops and enemy has 50, both of you field 25.

Ninja'd :C
I think being near someone playing instruments give you a buff, not sure about flags though.
alpha
Edited:
musicians - reload bonus
officers - accuracy bonus
flags - movement bonus
Nope. Well at least you need the battle sizer for M&B, but not warband.
Go into my documents/warband/rgl_config and just above the bottom of the text file there's a battle size option. "1" is 150, so "2" is 230 or something.
Exactly, It's already in alpha, so there probably won't be an engine change anymore.
It would really need a shit ton of new, big and awesome features to make up.
they have probably improved the original engine a fuckton i would imagine
just because it's in alpha doesn't mean they aren't going to change anything about it. if you're worried about the graphics, that can still change, not to mention those screenshots are pretty poor quality so it isn't a very accurate representation of the final product. if you're worried about the campaign map being similar, it's only an alpha, those could very well be placeholders - but even if they aren't, so what? how much do you expect it to change?
flags give melee and generals give movement
yeah man because games in alpha are p much like finished product
So things are looking up for me. I've now got my own large city and castle, only problem is I eloped with a lady and I lost a shitload of respect from the King and other Jarls.
oh well I got loadsamoney
I think it has to do with the "battle advantage" stat at the beginning of every fight. It's effected by your party's tactics stat and how many of the enemy you're fighting. I think every 2 tactics gives you +1 battle advantage
IE 3 battle advantage for you means 50 on your side and 35 on theirs
-1 on your side makes it 30 on yours and 50 on theirs
Also the fact that party size effects it
lets say it's 300 vs 50 on the map, it wont be 150 vs 50 on the field it'll be more like 100 vs 14
hope this helps
This game is fucking great
If i didn't find the melee in this game so laughably bad I would enjoy it a lot more, but with that aside it's still fun as fuck to form lines in the new expansion and take guys out with your muskets. Also seeing groups of 20+ guys get killed with one artillery shot is hilarious
How do I make my own nation/faction?
And is it possible to "upgrade" a village to a town and such?
You have to take a fief from one of the other factions. Just be warned that all the factions in the realm might want to fight you.
I tool a fief from the nord king. But that just makes me a nord. what I meant was creating a new faction, not joining an already existing one.
You just have to capture castles/cities while not being in a faction. Then you'll get your own faction started and you can appoint your companions fiefs.
If you're under oath with the Nords already, you need to denounce them. This will, however, turn the grass outside of your castle into angry Huscarls within 2 days.
Do something that would get you a negative reputation for some faction(if you are a vassal of a pre-existing faction, then you'll have to denounce or betray that faction), then you'll be able to besiege a town of castle of theirs since you have hostile relations. When you complete the siege, a rebel player faction will be created.
I founded a kingdom by leading a seige on a town, and when the king didn't grant me the fief, it gave me the option to keep it for myself anyways.
