yes, car was $600 and we've spent about $500 in things to fix it up (new interior, paint, brakes, and tune up shit like spark plugs/wires and wiper blades and other little things)
so we've spent just over $1000 and KBB value is like $2700 so i don't think we'll have much trouble

I have no tolerance for stupid, and there's nothing more stupid than using a bunch of old bricks on top of an I-beam to hold the front of a domestic pickup truck when the proper tool to hold it up is so cheap and easy to get.
It boggles my mind how people ever consider not using jackstands when they've got a car off the ground. They're so cheap and so effective...
Besides, that's not hostile. Not even close to hostile. If I was being hostile it'd get me permabanned.

I run a professional auto shop. I have three sets of 2 ton jack stands, two sets of 3 tone, and a set of 4 ton. Like Hell Strike said, if I was in any position under the car I would have used them. I'm not an idiot.
When I am not underneath a car I do not use jack stands, it saves time and is perfectly safe. If the car fell I would have been in no danger and besides a few banged knuckles nobody got hurt when I did my big brake upgrade.

I had no part in the photo, I was just laughing at him while he was trying to put the rest of the lift on his truck and that photo was literally the closest I got to it. I always use jack stands on the proper jack points when getting under my vehicles. Also I might like to add that he is definitely retarded but he only used that so he could move the jack to another spot. He didn't have any jack stands though, he seriously just used those two shitty jacks to support his truck the entire time.
We told him that like 20 times but he insisted it wouldn't break and some fucking how it didn't.
I couldn't have summed it up any better, I use all of the proper equipment when needed and I buy it because that is the cost of doing your own work properly. I only posted the picture to be funny since it's been on my phone for a while. I don't run an auto shop though.

We used to lift cars in the driveway with Creosote painted wooden block, you know, those who holds those steel rails beside roads? They're sturdy

The only reason I was using bricks was because my Jack wasn't tall enough to lift my truck up.
It ended up breaking the bricks, and the Jack it self. I've got a pair of Jack stands too. I always use em when I'm crawling underneath, or taking the tires off. But I've gotta use the Jack that came with my truck. Has a big long pole and a ratchet that spins a screw to jack it up. It's a bitch, but it'll lift it up high enough.

I drive one side of my car up onto a high curb and use a skateboard to go underneath if I need to inspect something.
If it's a big job it goes to my friends garage as he has a proper lift and every tool I'd need.

Tried fixing my rear wiper today but ended up destroying the shaft just trying to get it out of the motor (It was all seized up). Whoever designed the rear wiper system on my vehicle was an idiot.

Went over friends house, helped him sand his rad support for the monte.
His dad gave us fun facts about Maaco paint shops.
They sand 50+ cars in a day, using 5 guys and steel wool.
At the shop he works at he does 2 cars a day.
He worked at maaco for a day after he got out of high school and couldn't stand to do such a half assed job on peoples cars.
And thats how maaco paints your car for $400

added some bump to my wk2
stock system, 506-watt amplifier powering nine speakers and a subwoofer. should be enough but it was lacking.
i had a kicker cvr comp 10" from my old truck. and a 250w rms kicker amp( when bridged).
i ordered a c2a-chy23 and got a install kit for the amp.
step one was to remove the bezel for the radio. i started at the bottom and pulled out, it poped loose then worked my way around it.
it has a bunch of orange clips, i lost two but recovered them later. undo the two connectors for the hvac and lower buttons. set it to the side.
next just take out the 4 screw holding in the radio, i think they were 6mm.
the radio pulls out undo the harnesses on it and plug your converter in. mine was hard to push all the way into the head unit but make sure it clicks in.
there was a little confusion in the instruction well it confused me. they are 3 connectors on the pac unit harness two are white and grey the other is purple and green. one of the grey units plug into the purple one . not the other grey one. i routed the wires behind the head unit down under the bracket to behind the hvac and zip tied everything in. also i taped the rcas up and just used a but connector on the blue wire.
after that i ran the wire. rca and the little blue activation wire and the battery cable.
found my last orange clip
i ran the ground to the right front bolt for the seat. also i kept the power wire and rcas no closer the nine inches at any time.
the seat at the lowest position, i tied up a few low hanging wires.
under my 2011 larado x's drivers seat.
i tucked all the wire under the carpet after testing.. note if u start your jeep with the center bezel not plugged in your headlights will come on, if left on auto. they only work correctly when everything is plugged in.
next i ran the speaker wire under the carpet and around the door frame. i bolted my truck box 10" to the spare tire lid using L brackets, 2 of them.
next i tuned the amp and enjoyed
i dont think it was too bad for 80 bucks out of pocket.

Wired in a voltage gauge and boost gauge, except the boost gauge doesn't have a line going to it yet, waiting for a new engine. I was trying to crimp two wires together in a tight spot and I slipped, so now a chunk of skin from my thumb is gone :(
But it wired up quite nice.

Replaced my upper rad hose with this weird universal one with a spring type deal inside...Hm. We'll see how it does, the only other option is to either buy a cut to fit or wait for shipping on an expensive rotary parts store...Hopefully it fixes the problem I've been having with my mysterious coolant-disappearing-and-then-car-overheating bullshit...

Well guys, I wired in my own stereo for the first time. I'm now as qualified as the guy at best buy who helped me (My wire strippers were too dull so we borrowed theirs. He told me he applied for a computer position but got audio technician because he told the interviewer that he "once installed his own car stereo" :derp:)
I still think I want to find a subtle black lip for the front of my car, it would match the black side-trim and make it look a bit nicer.
Also, nice E30 parked beside me today. Not a fan of the yellowed headlights, but atleast it's clean as hell. Even the lip just casually blends in.

Hey guys I know this is a dumb question but do you know where the best place to jack my car up/ put the jack sands is? I used the jack points on my 2008 Equinox but when I lowered the vehicle I have put a 1mm deep dent in the damn thing (chevy strong), it bothers me because I don't really want to be messing with the structural integrity of my frame and I don't want to keep having to repaint the place where the paint falls off (if you do however 3M makes a rubberized coat just for that reason). I know that they can also be placed near the wheels or something but I've yet so see/hear of where exactly they go. Thanks!

Just put dual 5inch MBRP aussie cut stacks on my 3500 dodge cummins 12valve 1997. about 5 hours time only need a hole saw that was 4 1/8in in diameter, air impact and a 15mm deepwell socket all in all great investment 40+ more HP and -$1050.00 :(

Also here was my summer project of 2011 my 1988 cadilac el dorado FWD she was a running bitch till the fram buckled my second night. it was a fun and sad moment.

Ugh...I HATE stacked pickup trucks. I see them all the time in my area, none of them drive with any sense of sensibility, and they're all piloted by absolute hicks. On top of that you lose cargo room, rust the floor of the bed out faster, and make it difficult for anyone behind you to see a goddamn thing whenever you open the taps.
Ugh. I fucking hate stacked pickups. I even see it on gas burners around here. The only pickup allowed around this hatred of mine is one of these, and that's only because they came with stacks from the factory:
Don't get me wrong, those still look ridiculous, but at least it's excusable as they were there from the factory.

No. I didn't. I simply said I fucking hate stacks. I never said he shouldn't like them because of that or that he should uninstall them. I just said I fucking hate them, and detailed why I've come to feel that way about them.
Don't be stupid and don't make stupid assumptions. I don't like front wheel drive either, I feel it's lot in life is economy cars and that it has no business in anything 'performance', but you don't see me telling Brad to sell his Hondas because of that. He likes his front-drive performance cars, and that's fine.

I'm an AWD/RWD guy. FWD is cheap though and I stuck with honda because it's plentiful.
I'm actually a DSM guy. I miss my ol' Talon TSi AWD and my Eclipse GSX. :(

then remembered that it is most likley from when we used the high pressure steam cleaner, as there was only water on the right side of the engine
