Eh. I can see some of the differences in both the comics, but nothing that really offends the eye.
If this was a one off guest comic, like the others he had a wile back, it probably wouldn't of been edited that much. It looks more like all the other RA strips.

But I still understand the frustration of having your own art tampered with.

I hate the double standard for this too, I was drawing some female booty for anatomy practice and my jerkwad friend goes "CREEEEPPPPPYYY" and then turns to my female friend who is drawing a naked dude and doesn't even bat an eye.

Instead of black, you really should have gotten burnt umber and dark blue because those combine into a nicer black.
You at least need a brown, though.

i can't tell what medium that is from the tubes. i am no expert. but yeh brown is a must, at least for oils

You don't need a brown, browns are the easiest to mix with oils.. and a muted burnt umber isn't hard to achieve with a bit of black, red and yellow.. You just need a warm red and a neutral yellow.
