I think Tobey Maguire fit Peter pretty well, sadly they made him more geeky/nerdy without actually showing his smartness much.

This new guy looks okay, but I don't get that hero vibe from him just yet. Still, this is the origin movie so he's supposed to look young and inexperienced.

I don't think the Shrek Effect really applies seeing as this is a reboot and not considered a sequel.

And, for me, "FGSFDS WHYYYYYYYYYY" describes the third Spider-Man film perfectly.
