The fact that it's piss easy to get radiation poisoning and die in a manner of minutes makes this a chore to play.

Buy some vodka and a geiger counter, silly.
When you hear yourself start to make ticking sounds that means you're about to walk into radiation! there is a gmod bug where downloaded files (ie. sounds and fonts) aren't mounted until the game is restarted, so yo umight not be hearing the warning sounds.
ALSO!
I fixed day/night, somewhat.
The only problem is i cannot change skybox fog, so some maps look a bit strange. But apart from that it's all good. I'll add an admin convar to disable and enable this stuff.
To buy more vodka and a geiger counter, I have to actually complete a quest and step outside in the radiation. I don't even know where to go when poisoned, and by the time I try to escape, I can't sprint anymore.
The good part is that you can simply die and respawn with more vodka. And then you'll know which area to avoid.
Make sure to listen for geiger sounds when you're adventuring, it warns you of radiation before you actually get within poisoning range.
Do a mission, go to exodus, buy a respirator. Never a problem with radiation ever again.
I've played it, I've tried doing some missions and only get killed, and continue to fail the mission due to my death. I don't like this gamemode... I continue to get killed by random people for no reason, most people are just KOS.
Well i can't play the game for you... If you're getting killed by people then i suggest you try to be more sneaky, or perhaps try to outgun them if they refuse to leave you alone.
Also, i think scriptenforcer is off on the server. Hang tight and i'll enable it in a bit.
I just finished a rather big update. Day/night cycles now work on every map basically. You can control the intensity of it, so maps with darker/brighter skyboxes will all function with it.
Here's srp_thegarbage with an intensity scale of 3.0 (due to the bright skybox)
rp_apocalypse seems to be well off with an intensity scale of 1.0 (it has a dark skybox so no changes are needed really).
I've also made a convar controlling day/night speed, so you can change it to 0.01 if you want to see both ends of the spectrum and change the intensity accordingly!
I've played it, I wait for people to do missions and kill them, and then I watch them as they continue another mission only to die. I like this gamemode... I continue to kill random people for no reason, most people are KOS for me.
Sorry but it's true, all I did was kill people take their loot and store it
Wait, so RDMing is allowed? What?
Well i never said it was strictly roleplay, and i really don't feel like moderating the server 24/7. Would you guys rather i slap people on the wrist all day, or add cool new features like day/night?
If someone from another faction shoots at you then it's not like you can't roleplay that you're being attacked by another faction. Use your imaginations!
Also i made some visual changes to the inventory. Rate me artistic if you like it, or rate me disagree if you dislike it.

I was asking because one guy was RDMing earlier. Would that warrant a ban?
What do you mean by RDMing, you mean like killing the other factions all the time, cause that's all I did
Edited:
I suck at RP
Sounds cool, wil try it when I have some time.
He kept killing everyone when people were trying to make peace treaties and declared war on everyone who wasn't a member of the WMA. It was quite hilarious tbh.I think you were there, too. One guy named Chernobyl vowed to ban him once he got admin tomorrow.
-snip-
I think you are talking about Cap't since he's was always saying there was a war. I was killing everyone in the WMA, I got this one guy really mad
I would sometimes act peaceful with the WMA, help them collect stuff, until they let their guard down then I put a bullet to the back of their head, and collected their loot
I hope Chernobyl doesn't ban him if he shows up again. It was a lot more fun when everyone was fighting each other.
If he does I'll just replace him and cause the chaos, it's always fun to have faction wars
Hah, I was there (I was skullerx). After some time man, the WMA became powerful as hell. Me and another guy had Augs and one guy had a auto shotty and the bandolier guys kept attacking and failing. We take all the loot and made our selves rich. ( I got like, 3 mp5's, a couple respirators, a sniper rifle, a Sig rifle , etc. It was epic, cant wait to play tomorrow :3)
You called? I killed about 15 Exodus guys and 12 bandoliers that moment. I was the dude with the AUG.
Edited:
You just could've bribed me or something.
Edited:
Me and Icemaz were going on MISSION TIME raiding bases.
Edited:
I was carrying fucking 60LBS of stolen gear from them.
After playing for some time I gotta say it's pretty fun, but I could see hostile humans ruining it easily
Do you keep your items or stashed shit if you disconnect?
You need to store it by the guy which you can accept missions from.
If anyone got killed by Bandoliers or got their shit robbed. I'm sorry.
Edited:
On another note: I now own 8 respirators.
Added a new convar that lets you enable/disable RP chat shit.
Also pimped the FUCK out of the chat box.
You literally don't need to use chat commands ever again (the way it should be).
Not you.
Nightvision Goggles are now more useful.
You can see quite a bit better with them equipped - they also work better indoors now.
This basically concludes my updating spree, i've got nothing else planned to add to the game at this time. The US server has been getting quite a lot of attention recently, hope to see more people checking it out.
I've only been playing on the US server since no one is ever on the UK one
Time for a ~Radbox Development Screenshot Timetravel~
Hope you enjoyed![]()
What the fuck is that.
I would like to see some more quests... :/
Agreed with Vakser. It would make the gameplay 8312837281937% times better.
I asked for quest ideas and nobody has been able to come up with anything other than the generic "collect 5 of [some item] and bring it back", which has already been done.
How about a quest where you need to carry some sort of heavy transmitter thing and stay within a certain area for some time, and you'd be randomly attacked by fast zombies or something
Defend the outpost missions, with multiple players helping and all getting loot and money at the end. Preferably loads of it. Also, I would love stuff like exosuits and such being put into this gamemode.
One of those simple delivery missions? Your faction leader gives you a QUEST_ITEM or of some sort, points to some random npc spawn, and once you get there, a citizen pops up, you give the item, your faction leader knows about it, and thus you return back to him.
You have these but turned around. Find item, give item to quest giver, repeat.
You guys gotta think outside the box, maaaaannnnnnnnn.
I've got a new mission in the works, as well as 5 new items (hint: They have their own category) which will make the game 10x more interesting. I'm going to be very vague in my description of them because i think it'd be more fun to make an event of it on the US server. Like an easter egg hunt.
The quest is coded, as well as the 5 items. All i need to finish is some tweaks and i'll upload it.
Mission suggestions:
-Escort missions
-Repair structure missions
Okay since i don't want people soiling themselves and messaging me on steam asking about what the new update is:
Exodus has it way easier doing this mission since they can buy the Field Detector Module for $120. Every other faction will have to either find one, loot one, or do the mission using only their eyesight! Artifacts are VERY rare and are the most expensive item in the game.
There are 5 artifact types, and each artifact has its own special properties (each artifact also only spawns near certain anomalies). They don't operate the same as STALKER artifacts: You have to activate them to feel their immediate effects (that is, they don't have passive constant effects). Each artifact has a random chance of having negative or positive effects, so use them very carefully!
If you want to know exactly what a specific artifact does, you can give it to your trader NPC and they will analyze it for you (they will also pay you a shitload of cash and take your artifact permanently). Or you could be a fun-hating shithead and just read the lua file. Trust me, it'll be more fun to find out what they do without cheating!
The US server is updated so join it if you want to join the artifact hunt.
