4.2Ghz
4.2Ghz
No no, I also bought Windows 7. I use that for most stuff, but I use XP for everything else. Small programs like this, for example.
Why are you still using a 8 year old OS?
laugh at my shitty hardware now
and lol 32bit
4870-warmed toast is fantastic FYI
God, there are some really hot systems out there : O
Here's mine-
Netbook my dad handed down to me, removed all of HP's bloatware and got GMAbooster. Can run Half life, Halo, Deus Ex, Fallout 1 & 2, etc nicely.
I'd post my speccy but i dont have internet so.
P4 At 2.6Ghz
1Gb DDR(2x512mb)
MX440 64Mb(IT RUNS Warcraft III JUST)
80Gb HDD
XP Home SP3.
It's like average as, but the monitor is like dying slowly.
Good/bad?
I already posted this in a thread that I made asking for advice on tri-sli'ing some gtx580's, but I'll post it in here because I'm an attention whore of the first degree...
BTW: I only have 2xGTX295's and I have it overclocked to 4.2GHz stable on water, that is why the temp is a bit higher than ambient (although, I don't always run it oc'd). Also, I was remote desktopping when I took this, so my resolution was dependent on my laptops display (I have a Samsung T260HD and a 226BW running at 1920x1200 and 1680x1050 respectively).
How is that Striker II Extreme? Did they get the memory eating issues taken care of?
It's terrible, although I haven't had any memory eating issues (yet). But besides that, it's very unstable and doesn't have proper AHCI support for my SSD. I can't blame Asus for it though, NVIDIA's 790i chipset is just horrible. I'd swap it out for another one any day.
Oh that familiar scent of burning Turion.
I can smell it now....... Wait, why can I smell it?
Oh. Dad's using my old HP laptop. Never mind, thought something caught fire.
Because I don't want to clog up my Windows 7 with small programs like this? iunno.
Yeah, I went through three Striker Extremes. I actually still have one brand new in the box that ASUS sent me after my last RMA. I bought a EVGA 780i mobo after all that trouble (and six sets of RAM) and haven't looked at ASUS since. Shame, really, as ASUS had such a great track record (I built one of my best rigs out of a P5A w/AMD K6-2 450MHz way back when). I've heard that their X58 mobos aren't bad, but I'm going to stick with EVGA from now on (until their stuff turns to shit).
Heh I see buying an i7 extreme was worth it
Wow.
why would you use an old OS over one that should be fully backwards compatible and even better at everything you probably want to do
Am I doing it right? (I also have an external 1TB USB drive, but Speccy is not detecting it.)
Why is my 'second card' so hot? :S It wasn't that hot yesterday.

Only thing I see wrong is your motherboard.
It reeks of Alienware.
Edited:
Unless your entire computer is an Alienware.....
If that's the case;
:frog:
Blame my dad, he was too cheap to build one (he liked monthly payments over having to spend all at once). Anyways I'm getting a new one this summer, built so, yeah.
The 3870 didn't come with it. I bought that myself, it came with a 8600
Well I guess it's okay if you didn't really have much of a choice in the matter.
Edited:
Ninjas everywhere
Does what I want it to do.
I managed to convince him to buy a better graphics card afterwords. the 3870 was pretty good at the time, i got it double used (so it was almost 30% off). Apparently the two people who bought it before didn't have the right motherboard.
Recent build from about a week ago, the only downside to this is that this motherboard does not have Hyper Transport 3 and the other PCI-X16 slot runs at X4 speed. But other wise good for the money. And I do plan on buying a new graphics card along the 6xxxx line.

This is a speccy.
Someone on the first page beat you to that joke already.
damn. I was scrolling to quickly it seems.
Those temps actually surprised me... wasn't expecting my CPU to be that "cool'
Desktop:
Yeah, my CPU's old, but it can run everything I've thrown at it. Hell, back on the 6100 and 1 GB RAM I managed to get the Crysis demo working (somehow).
The only thing I've thrown at this hardware setup that has had any major problem is Beat Hazard. The fucker causes my graphics card to overheat and I have no idea why, especially since none of my other games do. I realize I probably need better cooling but whatever.
Laptop:
OK, I have no fucking clue why my graphics card gets hot here. SpeedFan didn't detect any actual fans, that might be it. Or I might just need to crack her open with a screwdriver and blow some serious dust out of it.
About Beat Hazard overheating your card....
Particle effects.
Massive, massive amounts of particle effects.
Iirc, particle effects put a large strain on your GPU. So that might be part of the reason.
If not, I don't know why.
