77c? wat
is that under load & overclocked? if that's idling you should get an aftermarket cooler
lol mine is going at 30C° - 32C° on full
i7 is OC'd at 3.2GHz, can't go any higher because I'm on a stock cooler and my mobo CPU power is far too short to add anything larger without splicing the cable.
Nah I wasn't idling. I was rendering a big movie file.
Still seems a little high if you're not overclocking and shit.
... my board?
the speccs is dissapointing in this thread
Holy bawls
Edit
Heheh but you still got the IDE dvd drive going ;)
Latest version of Speccy:
Looks promising. :jerkbag:
Ha-ha very funny.
(He's trying to run it through wine)
Duh... how else do you run Speccy on Linux, genius?
Edited:
The ONLY difference that makes with optical drives is airflow in the case due to SATA having a smaller cable... Burning DVDs at 22x with EIDE
vs SATA makes no difference in the slightest.
You don't.
...
You just...
Don't.
Been running this for the last 3 years, started off with an E5200 and 9600 GT 512MB, then 4850 512MB after 6 months, then Q9550 (with new motherboard) and 4870 1GB about 8-9 months ago.
Almost time for an upgrade (hoping I can run BF3 without a new CPU), but I plan on getting a LAN Party capable gaming laptop beforehand...
bought a new GPu the other day, on a budget...
Hopefully getting a new monitor real soon.
How? Are you a 1337 overclocker pR0 or what?
That's close to mine.
Just put it together. Stock heatsink does better than I thought it would. 30-32c idle and 46c while going through WU and other program installations.
Holy shit, 16GB of RAM!!!
Virtual Machines and whatnot. Small downside is the automatic page file size is 16GB which on my 64GB SSD is too much. I'll have to deal with that later.
My resolution is delicious.
Nothing out of the ordinary... I guess. :buddy:

H67 can only do 16x/4x
you need P67 for 8x/8x which is needed for sli certification
I think I win :D

If I had my old pc..
Oh boy,
Yours would be the rolls Royce compare to my old Dell..
I need to do some upgrading.
Maybe CPU/Motherboard/RAM
Get a C2Q q8400 or something, and you're good to go.
:smith:
That is some fucking brutally slow ram..
Why does it run so hot?
Clean it out?
Nothing too special
Edited:
Its actually at 3.4GHZ
It's not super-high-end, but it can run everything I tried at highest settings. I think my next upgrade will be an SSD.
It's a 5870 by the way, I don't know why it's not showing properly.
RAW POWER!
:byodood:
Why.
WHY.
Are you using an 8 year old OS on a brand new computer!?
It... It just doesn't make sense!
I found your problem. Get off XP 64-bit.
And is it a pre-built?
Obviously, no sane human being would put that GPU in a high end gaming computer.
Maybe it isn't for gaming, so I gave him the advantage of the doubt.
