because with vray i just render from inside max and stuff. also i only have a 9800GTX+ with a Q6600, but i'm getting an i7 2600k soon-ishly, but no gpu upgrade for a while.

Are you using blender for modeling? Because if you use any industry modeling app, you got no excuse for not having 50euros.
Also since octane is unbiased, it's not very good for animation because each frame takes different amount to render or has different noise levels. Very annoying. Sure in biased times frame by frame vary, but I know that when it's done, the noise will be the same as the last frame had.
Decided to start modeling again after doing nothing productive for a month.
Oh and this is (still) my first model. Yeah I worked on it for about a week and then just dropped it.

The top thingy it has on the front doesn't look appealing. Also for the love of god fix smoothing errors. Even if it's a wip, I hate seeing these.
I use Blender and LuxRender at the moment.
Octane is fast. I think it is very good for animation.
I've never tried Vray so I wouldn't know. Anyway Octane is a rendered that works with CUDA capable GPUs instead of the CPU, main points being:
- real-time preview of physically correct un-biased light, specular, diffuse and glossy materials
- progressive rendering, just don't rotate the camera or modify materials and it'll get less noisy over the next few minutes automatically. (you can however, change the exposure, gamma and contrast without restarting it again)
The only limitation is your GPU memory, but the scenes I posted only consumed 60MB/1000MB and they took just several minutes to render each, even with quite a steep DoF in the other render. The fact I don't have to always guesstimate my materials and rape the render button to see if it was right in a hit-and-miss style is a big thing IMO, Octane is just ridiculously practical in comparison to most renderers. Then again I'm quite crap at modeling and texturing and lights so I need crutches like real-time preview, the more proficient ones here might only thing Octane is "neat" but it's almost vital to me by now
Edited:
That's very true, although you can render animations with Octane it's not really time-efficient anymore because you p. much want to get rid of a huge amount of the noise. For still shots which is my intention mostly it's plain awesome though.
Shame vray doesn't support gpu rendering. Sure the RT does, but it's just RT. I want final vray to use gpu power too.
speaking of clothing, don't tell menter but I gave up on sculpting and am doing normals in photoshop

Would be awesome to render with Vray using CPU and GPU (no, it's not RT).
You have a nice ass.
Huh, I'm a student and currently don't have ~£50, I use 3ds Max.
Oh no !
Just trying out building modelling, mainly because I've never done it before.
Just saying, no artist would tag a police station.
Graffiti kiddies can hardly be called artists.
neither can you.
Do you see me anywhere claiming that I'm an artist?
Oh nevermind, you have hardcore parkour in your avatar, which most likely means you are a graffiti kiddie.
What I see when I see a tag,
"I was to afraid to sit here for a prolonged period to paint something nice for fear of being caught, so all I left was this crumby tag."
Are you saying all graffiti artists aren't artists or just the ones that draw cocks or write their name on buildings?
Answer to your question
So, he didn't understand you at first, so you figured repeating what you said in bold, bigger text will make things clear?
it works on little kids
Fuck no, I hate tags, but still, that isn't my point, no graffiti person, kiddie or not, would not tag a police station.
Edited:
Also, some tags are good, as it is a highly developed form of calligraphy, but yeah, Murals and shit are alot better.

look at this thread, now back to me, now back to this thread. Your thread is now about graffiti
you inspired me to write this on a wall some where
I beg to differ. There's a police station about a block away from me that's covered in graffiti.
Do it with a A3 sized paper stencil, you could just slap it on a wall and be done with it really fast![]()
Can someone post a screenshot of vray mtl rollout that shows all stuff it has (diffuse, reflection, refraction and all that jizz).
Where can I aquire vray for Cinema4d? A trial will do.
Or is it worth ditching C4D and moving to something else?
Complete VrayMTL:

requesting pics of ac that looks like that
It's not done. Plus there's not many references and who cares anyway, I'm just practising building stuff. The AC is an added bonus.

Oh look, Layla's back to rate me.
Bought another Wacom, a Bamboo Pen and Touch this time.
Nice to have as a spare and for quick tasks, got it for a steal so I couldn't pass it up.
What!? Why would you need this lowlife if you have a cintiq?
Wanted something for quick tasks (without having to move all my junk to the cintiq), for use by girlfriend and to use on the other PC in the office for when I'm collaborating with other people on projects, Also nice companion to the macbook. And if it makes you feel any better it was $25 at the pawn shop basically new.
lmao layla cant deal w/ real life
I want my tablets new for 25 bucks :saddowns:
