But you'd have to be incredibly high for that to happen, also, it isn't unreasonable to have the bottom 9 or so chunks below you always loaded, so that if you free-fall you'd always have 9 chunks of always loaded space to land on.

I mean, doing something like that would be very hard and wouldn't change gameplay much at all - but it would give game worlds some much needed variety.

My most anticipated feature is the additional of more rpg-style elements like AI towns, dungeons, that kind of thing. Having interactable human NPCs who can dynamically affect the world, build buildings, strip mines, would make the game a much better experience in single player. Once you've played SMP there's no going back...

And if you had mountain interstate? Loading 9 chunks under you at minecart speed?

Oh yes! Did you ever play Haven and Hearth? I wish someday someone will make something similar. That game is pretty fun but hardcore sometimes.

Also about Earth. I wouldn't mind a separate world generation setting where you could set a scale to generate Earth, maximum being 1:8
I'd probably play at 100:1 scale. Plenty of space.
