Feeling happy today. Just found out that I do not have to sell my wonderful BMW because the military is going to ship it out to me as part of my household goods move! I would hate to part with that bike in such a way. Thing is, when I get back from deployment, I am probably going to get a triumph speed triple.

28 dollar part makes suck a big difference for my right side carb on the cm400e.
rode for about 20 minutes around the yard no flooding or losing power.

    Went through many problems today.

It was my turn to get into the roundabout when I changed to the second gear and throttle to the max. Suddenly I hear some weird clanking sound and the gear just automatically kicks into neutral holding me to a full stop. I panicked rev'ed it and launch with the front wheel off the ground in first. When I landed, front wheel decided to get misaligned by approx 20 degree to the right, damn uncomfortable, I cant even turn left properly now. Almost then a prius almost rammed me when it was obviously my turn to go.

Stopped by 7Eleven. Picked up beer, a can of tea, and coffee. And rode home with misery.

There is something obviously wrong with my gearbox. When i arrived home before I changed into neutral I made sure it was exactly on neutral before I released the clutch. But then it suddenly changes into 2.

I once had something similar happen to me when I was going to second from neutral where the shifter felt like it was bouncing around between the two and ended up in neutral again. But I figured I just didn't fully engage it.

These years are my only chance for a street bike, i cant use my KTM on road because its a 06, 07+ can go on our road, a newer bike on our road would cost between 600-1300$ per years for the damn PLATE, 2000$+ for insurance and winter is long here, if there was no snow, i would expect up to 5000$ to plate, while older bike like yours would be A TON cheaper to plate and insure.

Apparently they aid cooling of the head and provide air for the airbox.
And here's another theory i found on some forum

Ever noticed that your bike seems to be a little sharper on a cold morning ?
Cold air is denser and therefore for a given volume has more oxygen motorcycle engines like cold denser oxygen rich air
The hoover pipes help maintain a supply of that lovely cold dense air in the vicinity of the air intake.
They serve no ram air function at all.
Well, whatever their purpose is, they look nice.

Been wanting a ninja myself too. Its bike I first liked and got me interested in bikes.

I've always dreamed of buying it after I get my full license, but maybe I'll directly jump to something bigger.

I will soon once I wash/wax it. It's a black 2009 Ninja 250 with a Yoshimura exhaust. The Yoshimura exhaust is a lot louder than the stock exhaust, but it's not obnoxiously loud. I've only ridden the bike around the neighborhood so far, and the only other bike I've rode is the Honda Rebel 250 at the MSF course, so I'm still getting the hang of it. The Ninja 250 definitely feels different than the more laid back Rebel.

It has a 1 years warranty, so it should be fine, but i wouldnt buy something expensive that has no warrenty, could mean lack of quality.

Yeah I'm not too worried, it'd just be a pain to send it pack.

Video quality is pretty decent. I've been running it at 720p @ 60fps but I need a bigger mSD card than the 2GB that came with it, so I'll go buy a 32GB one.

I need to try different angles until I find a good one, as well as sorting out the audio. The internal mic pics up a lot of wind noise, as to be expected, but when I plug in an external mic, the camera shits itself and just turns off. I'll try another mic or just sort out a windscreen/muff for the internal mic.

So far so good though. I might edit some of the footage I took today and post it. There's some okay stuff in there.

Just got back from a fun ride on my moped taking it to a small hill road where I test vehicles I ride/drive. Its just a short 800m strip, 400m of bendy snake road and another 400m straight road.

The last time I got there I got 55km/h on the bendy part and 75km/h on the Straight. I know its pretty slow but I'm on a full metal moped. This ride I got 65km/h on the bendy and 81km/h on the straight. Was pretty scary on the bendy parts, at one time I cornered with an angle so low that a part of the moped almost touched the road. After triumphing with my new personal record a Pizza-Hut motorcycle overtook me.

It was pretty fun, even for a moped.

There is another road where I test things I ride/drive but I've been there once I dare not go again cause its pretty dangerous for my riding skills.

What moped do you have? I've got one as well, pretty much everyone in sweden does.
Over here you're allowed to ride them from the age of 15 with a license.

Maximum legal speed for the class II mopeds is 30km/h, and for the class I modeps, the limit is 45km/h, nobody gives a shit about this (expept parents and cops), so every moped is tuned, often with exhaust systems, or cylinders.

Mine is a Honda MT5 (it's an old class II moped), with a 5.5hp cylinder, 16.5mm carb, some exhaust system, and 16/45 gears, does about 60-70km/h, it revs a lot though :/

My 250CC Chinese imported bike. 20HP, 5 Speed. Only cost me $1000 brand new.

Owned it for about a year now, surprisingly has had only 1 problem with the clutch cable breaking. Was an easy fix though.
Will soon upgrade to a Honda CRF450X in a few months time.

Just an LML Vespa. minimum riding age is 16. there is no class system but if you have a B license which is almost basically the moped license the cops can't issuea fine higher than RM200(USD $65)

Took the Ninja 250 out of the neighborhood and on the highway for the first time. I did pretty good, but I still need more practice with a few things. I've noticed that you have to rev the shit out of the bike to keep up with traffic. I rarely look at my tachometer, but I don't think I've been past 8500 RPM. Next time I go out I'll probably try shifting at ~12,000 RPM and see how the acceleration is.

Got a video uploading at the moment. I've since stuck some foam over the mic which has helped cut down the wind noise a lot, but it still needs some work.

In the mean time, here's a photo taken with my helmet cam
(It needed a bit of PP in Photoshop to adjust the exposure/brightness)
