I myself have an 08 Kawasaki Ninja 250r. I am looking for an upgrade, as I have been riding for 2 and a half years. I am looking for a BMW 1100 or 1150 RT P.

You should just give that ninja to me.
Do you have three thousand american dollars?
Nope but I got $5.19 on my paypal. Kidding where do you live?
Does it count if I have a moped?
I've got a Honda MT5 which I have tuned with a 65cc cylinder, a better exhaust system and a 16.5mm carburetor (is it spelled like that?). When I got it it was all original and its top speed was about 30km/h, with the current setup it goes about 70km/h and is about 3 times stronger than original.
Looks a bit like this one http://img391.imageshack.us/img391/6724/111qx0.jpg
I've also got a Yamaha Chappy that is entirely original!

So, looking through this thread, I come to realize that mopeds hardly look like scooters. For some reason I always thought that mopeds were almost the same thing; is it an American thing or am I just ignorant?
Moped is quite a wide category
I live in California, in north sacramento.
Michigan. :saddowns:
That is quite the way. Well, good luck in getting your next bike!
Son, time to get a license and a bike.
No you can't have that bike the insurance is €3,500.
Fuck.
Need a job to get a bike to get to my Job.
Is insurance really that expensive in the EU?
Far out, I live on H Street in downtown Sacramento for about a third of the year.
Anybody know if there are any places other than craigslist I can look for a used bike?
craigslist is probably the best, but there's cycletrader, and you could try the forums for whatever bike you're looking at buying
Cycle Trader can be a Godsend if you're not down with the Craigslist.
but cycletrader doesn't seem to have as many/as good of deals
Well I am looking for a honda cbr 250r or a ninja 250r.
Craigslist is your best bet, then. I got my bike off of Craigslist years ago and it's been a beauty.
I am not against craigslist, I just wanted something to look at along with it.
Well searchtempest.com is a multi-city craigslist search, which also pulls results from ebay, and a few other trader sites i believe.
EU isn't one country

Probably has been gone for a long while but I get a lot more results that way.
damn crotch rockets
theyre not even stylish, theyre UGLY
no
they're not.
ape hangers, now that shits fucked up.
Agree
Also the reason I am going for a crotch rocket is because it a 250cc and it will be a starter bike, and from what I hear it is one of the best starter bikes.
Not even sure the Ninja 250 should be considered a crotch rocket IMO, it's so angular and pointy instead of sleek and streamlined like a regular crotch rocket.
Edited:
It'd be the bike I got if I were to get a bike though. That color too, Mmmmmm.
im ricky ricer so i'd want a green 636
Edited:
mmmm
throw some 9000 million HID's on there, a full 190dB racepipe exhaust, led's EVERYWHERE
This x10000000000 :v
If I got a bike I'd probably get a Honda Rebel. They're supposed to be pretty good first bikes, and I kinda like the look of a cruiser.
2011 Suzuki Boulevard looks pretty cool too.
Not sure I like how the front sits though.
Edited:
Actually, this.

Good luck reselling a rebel 250, I see them all the time on craigslist same poster over and over for two to three months trying to sell them before they give up and drop the price so low they are loosing a shitload of money.
Thats one thing to look for when buying a bike. Buy something that wont depreciate too much and will sell fairly easy. Ninja 250's sell fast and after about 5 years price remains steady. Older bikes such as cb 450's 300's and such will also sell pretty good considering a lot of people buy them to tinker or make cafe bikes. Or just buy them to make ugly ass chopper projects.
Looking in my area, all I can find on Craigslist is Dirtbikes, and ATV's. On that Cycletrader website Pretty much everything under $5,000 were Honda Rebels.
I did see an '11 Hayabusa for about $9k though.
I'm stuck with a moped till i turn 18, which is in 4 months. :argh:
I'll have to see about getting a big bike this summer tho, probably getting a car first.. Gonna save money up next winter :buddy: Been thinkin' bout buying a crashed sportsbike and building a streetfighter / nudebike of it during the winter.
Current rides:
Aaand my little toy

I want an Aprilia RS so bad. :saddowns:
I saw a big fat black guy riding a busa today, his ass was hanging out, and his shirt was all up because of the wind, and i swear he never went below like third gear
I hate busas. They look horrible, and look even more horrible when people rice them.
:barf:
hayabusas can crank bro
shit, if they're going to pick bikes for the live action akira movie they'll probably be using re-kitted hayabusas
You can make them look good, but stock / horribly riced = :barf:
Oh god kill it with fire. Granted it probably has a fuck load of power w/ a turbo. It's just whoever made it has so sense of taste.
There are some fairly nice stock paint jobs around on the newer ones though, it's just the weird as fuck bulges around the back fairing let it down so much.
I'd like to tour on one though, that or a ZZR1400 (maybe the GTR1400).
