Because of its low muzzle velocity, the bullet doesn't break the sound barrier, but it's wise to use a target leading calculator in Earth conditions. In space the user can set the muzzle velocity to supersonic because there is no atmosphere and no sound.

I tried mixing up a Barrett, AK and German flak cannon... It's a WIP (notice the lack of proper shading, for example) but I don't think I'm going to finish this.

The bullet is big and heavy, and because it's subsonic, the bullet drops very fast (like with the VSS Vintorez) So in normal conditions it wouldn't be smart to use this gun at very long distances. Targeting software is pretty much necessary for shooting anything past 500m, especially if the target is moving. In low gravity it's not so much of a problem.
Reminds me of something one would see in a Final Fantasy game. :) Actually in FF7DoC there is a guy who uses a tank cartridge rifle.I love your work. Keep it up chap!

Content out of boredom (I'm at my grandma's, so I'm pretty bored)
From top to bottom: Long-range sniper rifle (totally not inspired by Barret or anything...), cal 5,45 assault rifle and a 9mm lightweight SMG w/ 4 x 30 sight.

After seeing some of the other stuff in this thread my work looks pretty bad, but this is literally the first serious thing I've ever done in paint.

Do more. Do piles more artwork. Don't get all sobby over other people's work. Before you even notice, your stuff looks a whole lot better than the stuff you made before. (I've been drawing with MSPaint since I was 5 years old, you really notice the difference there.)
I recommend you to start practicing shading next. You have a big bucket of potential and I'm willing to see it spilled all over your work. Go get inspired, get to work, and return with content!

Add shading
In fact you have shading.
Increase the contrast between the shades and don't have your shading hug the outline.
Change the colour of the outline to a darker colour of the inside colour (If take makes sense).

It might help to have no outline at all, or to at least not use pure black.
You can easily change borders to any colour you like using the eraser tool.
