Never go anywhere without my trusty headphones;

I tend to not use my headphones when I'm outside, because my head is so tiny, and sennheisers are so damn big :psyduck:
But earbuds break so easy, ugh.
I have earbuds that look like these, except the silver is black.
They were only €25,- and high quality for the price.
YOU WANT A WAR, A WAR YOU SHALL GET!
I have no arguments at the moment.
I love my beautiful Sennheiser's I won't let anything happen to them.
I know someone who has those. I might try them.
I've had my Denons for about 2 years now, still going strong. I've had to glue the casing and they're a bit brash sounding but they're a hell fo a step up from Bose and the like
I love over-ear headphones. Comfortable, and great sound. I just need to buy a decent set for home use.
Unfortunately, they are too clumsy to just carry with you when your out and about. And I'm always paranoid that they may get broken/stolen/lost. Stolen isn't likely since I live in South Dakota, but you never know and it sort of goes hand in hand with lost anyway.
I stick with in-ear earbuds when I need portability.
Anyone know how good the HD201's are in terms of comfort and durability?
They are comfortable... and they are durable.

What can I get for about a hundred dollars including a cheap clip-on mic, my headset is broken.
Bonus points if you suggest something from here (or any other store based in Canada), I don't even recognize the brands on this one except for Sennheiser and Pioneer though so if they're shit don't bother.

Denon and Shure are reliable brands, but expensive.
For some reason I thought your avatar was disintegrating...
in ear headphones = hearing loss
I like to listen to music with headphones while stoned. Feels like the band is playing inside my head.
Don't have to be stoned, but the idea you have is correct.
not the best but they were 40 bucks or something (amazon has some lovely sales). I kinda hate the chord, which is too long, flimsy as hell and non-detachable (those three things combined are a hassle) and the aesthetics of it aren't really my taste (like a lot of Sennheiser) but the sound and price work for me
also have these ancient Koss phones (in black). Don't sound as good as the senns but I kind of like these
Got B&W P5s (won them)
and also getting HD650s

This is a troll thread, right?
Since this ball of sound theory does not apply to reality..
so do i play this shit on repeat for an hour or something? does it matter that ive already used the earbuds quite a bit? ive only had them for a month or two
Headphones on the go,
Headphones on the PC.
could someone answer this? ive been looking all over and heard varying suggestions. i have a playlist with a 20 minute stream of pink noise and a 2 minute 'rest period', how long should i keep it looping? isnt it a little risky to play it for 40+ hours?
Edited:
and for the volume, does it have to be unpleasantly loud? or just slightly louder than normal listening
Edited:
just started it with my system volume set to 61% and winamp volume at 81%. im tense as fuck, why does the internet tell me to do things
I didn't read the entire thread but I'm going to post this here anyway.
I love headphones for given situations but hands-down, I will pick floor speakers for my music listening experience whenever I get the chance. Why? Well, I absolutely love being surrounded by music. There is something about the entire room reverberating your music, that encapsulating feeling of being completely immersed by music that I love. I love it when you can FEEL the music coming through your speakers; that rumble of the 15" woofers just pushing air. That just cannot be replicated by headphones. I've posted my system in another thread. I'll pick that over headphones every single time.
/not-bashing-headphones
You're right in the sense that they manipulate the environment.
So far the "stereo effect" that emulates a band being within the room hasn't worked on me.
I personally think "performance" or "background" music would work best with speakers. Something like Jazz or Drum and Bass.
I'm still scepticle about drone though.
Speakers makes the music sound big. Headphones make it sound personal.
I love my ATH-M50's, they have changed the way I view music. Everything's much more precise and clear.
I'm curious if there's a way to give the same feel for the body while maintaining audio quality with headphones.
soooo yeah how about that burn in thing
Edited:
could someone just tell me how long i should use a playlist of 20 mins pink noise and 2 mins silence? ive just left it playing on my ipod, its been in for like 5 hours
18 hours, somebody please build my confidence
your method is poor.
Just break them in naturally.
why is it poor
to break in headphones I'd think you'd have to play a variety of wavelengths. Not just noise.
pink noise plays on all frequencies, if i recall correctly. this method of burning in is also just to allow you earbuds to reach their highest potential so you dont have to listen to music for hours and hours on loud volumes to fully break them in
or so ive heard
Volume should be slightly higher than the normal you listen to.
You can keep your earphones on burn-in or let the burn-in happen naturally over time playing random assortment of songs in your playlist.
There is no risk unless you are playing the burn-in files at extremely high volume.
does 40 hours sound good? im using the klipsch image s4's if that means anything
^^I'd suggest leave'em on burn-in at night and normal use during daytime.
"burning in" headphones with extreme intensity would do more bad than good imo.
dont ruin this for me
its at 42 hours, omg omg omg is it ready ?????
you've just ruined your headphones.
