Have any of you listened to this?

Fripp actually smiling for once? He usually looks so serious in his pictures and when he's playing.

Would Between the Buried and Me be considered progressive metal? I think so, as does Wikipedia. Worth mentioning if any of you aren't familiar with them. Pretty great variety in their music. Bit strange at times

Already listen and like Dream theater and Mastodon. Gave Opeth a listen to but couldn't get into them. I will give the rest of them a listen to. Also, I can't stand tool.
Change your mode to enjoy it more.

    Find it. :smug:

That's pretty impressive. Yes should be fun, they don't have many "bad" albums.

By the way, I just oredered this :smug::

I've only heard one track from the album, so I hope I won't be dissapointed (not likely).
I love innovative and "extreme" stuff like this. I appreciate the fact that people are willing to take risks to carry their genre forward.

Try a few Soft Machine albums, "Third" is a good place to start. Also the band "Anglagard".

The second point is difficult to answer... in fact I'm not even going to bother.

I'll never decide a favourite but his most confusing work is Lumpy Gravy. His most legendary would be "Hot Rats", "We're Only In It For The Money" and "Freak Out!"

I've listened to a bit of Third, but it was just too obscure even for me . I remember the first track having like 5 minutes of these wierd sounds. I've also listened to Hybris by Änglagård, but because I'm Finnish, the Swedish vocals make my ears bleed diarrhea. It's a shame really, since I loved the instrumental.

When I think about it, I can't really stand any vocals that aren't in English, which is pretty dumb since there is probaby a lot of great stuff that isn't in English. Maybe I should try to listen to some non-English stuff to try to get over it.
