Yeah i had to use the adapter, there was no way to attach it without it, i know it wasn't very common, but it's useful as you can have more stuff on the belt and looks pretty aswell.

I also got an M69 Flak vest for a whooping $30 at an auction, i can post some pics if you like.

Yes, I was trying to get all NOS gear so the colors would match and I could break them in myself.

If I recall you can't attach a buttpack to a pair of M61 suspenders, either with the adapter or without, I think it only works with the M56 gear. Not sure but that's what I've heard.



Also since everyones posting webgear, heres my Midwar WW2 set. Everything but the ammo belt is original.

The m61 should work with the adapter. The hook and loop system hasn't changed from 1910 gear up until alice clips. M61 suspenders just can't take the pack adapter.

I'm sure there's more pics where Soldiers/Marines have cards in their helmet bands, but this is just a quick one I found. Ace of Spades death cards were distributed by the Army's Psychological warfare center because they believed the NVA/VC were superstitious and thought it was bad luck. I have a bunch of them, came with a free Hell bank note.
