I think I'll make it take into account the sum of all the nearby enemies exp levels rather than how many there is. 10 level 1's aren't as threatening as 1 level 50, so, yeah.
You should just add the levels of all nearby enemies, and if it's higher than X, change the text. Also you game is looking pretty awesome, how are you storing map data?
except that gravity scales proportionally to mass, so all objects DO fall at the same speed (without taking other factors like air resistance into consideration anyways)
All objects accelerate at the same rate, no matter their mass. If you solve the equation for acceleration, mass drops out.

Just a 2D array of tiles inside a map class. I then have an vector of maps to represent different levels of the dungeon.
Hopefully steam will change their mind when you finish that, it's awesome.
