Eragon all the way
So, does the map only update if you have it out?
If so, put 9 maps in hotbar, set macro program to auto-scroll, walk around for an hour or so, sell 8 maps and keep one.
make hella bank.
Holy crap awesome.
Now I am also wanting the custom paintings and writeable books that was mentioned earlier in this thread, too.
Animalus Monstrum: An Overworlde Beastiarie
If small pictures could be put in the books as well, that would be awesome.
Wow books, epic.
SMP Version: ur ghey: haha the butts edition
I need to transfer my epics to Minecraft form.
Edited:
I think I caused zebras to go extinct because of the map
I choose this map over others on google cos of the names and it was exactly what I was looking for.
I never did read the second book,I lost interest half way through and it became really hard to read a boring book.
Attacking while holding a map gives creepers papercuts.
Just like Oblivion, a whole bookshelf of books that mean nothing! Well apart from the skill levelling ones.
"History of Morrowind" and stuff that were whole books 10 pages long.
"History of minecraftia"
Page 1: "I made a new world and build a castle"
Page 2, 3 and 4 is a manual on how to use a bow.
The books in the Elder Scrolls games were there for a reason; to establish lore and make the world seem real and alive.
They must be really good, everybody has like 5 copies of the same book on their shelves.
Hm...
Where is that video again?
Punching down trees, obviously.
Or just clone the maps?
The first picture somehow remembers me of an Europe map...
Holy shit, you're right.
Make a map to the Far lands
Maps should be sort of hard to make imo. Like 9 paper makes a sheet then you need ink sac for mapping ink, and once crafted with the sheet it becomes a map. Well, its not that hard to make, but you still need to find squid and reeds.
Some kind of option to mark certain locations would be helpful
8 paper and a compass in the middle
After this notch needs to add more food.
Rice would be a cool addition.(although maybe a little much, pork burgers would be cool too)
Achievement awarded "Traveler"
You have crafted a map!
Yeah, more reliable food sources would be nice too. Sure pigs are around all the time and you can grow and fish, but there is still no underground sources, really.
Make an infinite water generator, then use it to fill a 4x4 or so pool. Then fish.
awesome this will be cool
I realise this thread is mainly about the addition of maps in 1.6 - But I'm sad that Maps are the only new item in 1.6 - that means that pistons are not in 1.6.
But I think that maps will be really useful - especially when you have a large world, with several 'outposts' or whatever.Notch posted:
This isn't very exciting
maps are the only thing stopping me from putting a bunch of pine trees on a hill in front of my house
I'd like to see what happens with the maps when you walk around on the glitchy terrain
Swastikas everywhere
can you map the nether?
probably but since its entirely brimstone it doesnt really matter
