Its a troop transport gunship thing. Like a spacehind. It was a request from a member of my ventrilo.

That's not the point. Chairs are broken, atleast for him. It's safe to assume that would still be the case on larger ships.
edit:
Maybe you could look at smartsnap, I think that would be pretty much exactly what you'd use.
Well I think you'll find that with the GHD you no longer need seats for one, and second, it's far more effective on ships/stations larger than that. Though the issue you have with the seat is problematic (I'm sure seats are good for people who don't want to always stand).
Oh... right you cant draw curved lines, how exactly does the current system find the hull area? Feel free to give me the full 'techy' explanation, the more information I have the easier it is for me to think up a solution.
I crashed while spawning a door in my Hull. It's a long story.
Also SuperLlama make runecraft again. :P
Yes, but I just think it pointless to have GHD on such a small vessel.
You're still missing the point. Seats are good for controlling the ship, and the GHD is meant for the passengers/garrisoned troops that will spew out of my anus when I land on the enemy ship. Its not your ship, so I don't see why you continue to push this opinion across the table when its not relevant to the problem in the first place.
I believe it happens when you put the chair into the ship, then turn the ship into a GHD, if you put the chair in after it's already a hull, or spawn it in the hull, then it should work correctly
Aha, I managed to reproduce it. It's a bug with antiteleport, I'm trying to find the cause now.
I'm not pushing an opinion, I'm voicing an opinion. And if you read carefully you'll notice that I said "Though the issue you have with the seat is problematic (I'm sure seats are good for people who don't want to always stand)."
Now stop getting so butthurt so easily. Geez.
"FP, where all your short tempered kids go."
Fixed the seats finally, apparently the antiteleport didn't like that fact that you sat in the chair, and through the entire period of sitting in the chair it was nagging and nagging the player to go to a specific location, and the client said "nope I'm in a chair", and finally when you leave the chair it's like "GO TO THIS SPOT" and it finally says "oh, okay..."
Committing 11.
That was funny. Again nice (edit: no, AWESOME) work Llama, we appreciate it.
Back on topic here, my spinning space station kind of..well failed. It looked awesome looking at the planet upside down and such. But when it came to making it spin in space it didn't exactly spin. I guess I'll have to go back to that later.
Also, say I wanted to from walking vertical to walking horizontal, what would be the best way to do this with one contraption? I realize it would take two GHDs, but from my experience the transition isn't very smooth for that and can sometimes result in falling through the floor you're aiming at.
I ask this because we all know space stations don't exactly have one plain for movement. Each level is horizontal and then there's a vertical shaft you can walk up and down in.
Later on, directly welded gravity hulls will have transitions that are extremely smooth and will not pass through the regular plane of gravity. It'll also be impossible to clip through two welded GHD's during a transition. It's a matter of code, but I think I can overhaul it fairly well. It involves using part of the second ghost in the first ship, but it will be transparent to the user.
EDIT: And the best way to transition from horizontal to vertical gravity is probably to make a lift that pushes you just far enough into the ceiling to transition you into the other hull-- like that video I posted earlier of the station that NullDragon made.
SuoerLlama, could you please post a semi indepth description of how you find the area inwhich a player can enter the hull?
Yes!! Yes!!!!
Sounds weird but i had this idea... NO, i'm not stealing it. I was just thinking about someone should make this..And voilla.
This could be useful for space machinimas.
If you listed all the uses for this mod you'd have enough words to equal all the words in this thread.
I hate the idea of 'immense game changers' but this one has me intrigued.
I know not to get too excited though. Poly weld, Prop clipping all gimmicks that added nothing.
Still. If it works like in the videos I can make so much stuff with it.
That's because Poly Weld and Prop Clipping didn't add anything to the game people could use. GHD is something everybody can use.
As an example, Space stations can now be built with buttons everywhere, and no matter what the station is doing, people can walk around freely and not be bumped outside and they can still control the station.
Or maybe someone likes challenge maps, make a topsy turvy maze for players to explore.
Hovercrafts
Battlefield Heroes style Airplanes
Realistic inertial dampeners
Basically everything we do today has now been improved and fixed.
Prop clipping didn't do shit. And I never heard of Poly Weld.
Poly weld used querey phys to conglomorate physics hulls into one object like an extremely awesome welder.
Unfortunatly the thing was bugged out the ass.
The guy who made it was like 'Cool right? You know it. now I'm going to cease working on it and instead vanish forever'

Question. What happens when gravity hulls collide?
Bug Report-
Spacebuild-
Suit Dispensors DO NOT work in a GHD,you can not use them and this is a problem.
Puts you into space in the eyes of the server which means you die from lack of resources unless you got some sort of res generation system.
When flying into the hull noclip is disabled inside the hull regardless of if you are in an LS field or an atmosphere due to the fact you are being registered as being in space.
General-
Flashlight does not work in GHD,this is a big deal if you have a control console with hidden buttons to look cool but then forget the button layout yourself or have not memorized them yet.
EDIT:
Holy shit i just saw all the join dates on the page,im an oldfag compared to most of you and theres only 2 even older fags.
Too bad you're still retarded.
Anyway. Anyone remember this shit right here?
Where the fucks my frontier
Im the one who posts a bug report, you are the one who posts an unreleated video.
Anyway what gamemode is that, havent seen it before(I can guess its called frontier) and im guessing that it was never released.
After crashing a couple of times in the hl2 campaign with this tool it messed up some skybox textures and made all of the maps fullbright.
Oh the join date elitism :allears:
I think i'll need to figure out the hull code myself then :saddowns: (For the wireframe borders)
Any servers running this addon that's populated in this moment?
truly the best mod I've ever seen
69.90.34.232:27017
Diaspora has 4 people on and thats the highest i THINK.
Installed on my server!
(.HFS.)Hellspawn's Fun Server! [Build, Wire]
89.238.160.52:27016
Slots: 12
Does the Environments addon now work with this addon?
I've cleaned up the code a bit (split it into separate files). Just waiting for SuperLlama to respond on steam. Although the code is still ridiculously messy, this should give him a push in the right direction :)
I'm also going to suggest making another folder in the SVN (if googlecode lets you) called
http://gravityhull.googlecode.com/svn/beta
Notice the "beta" at the end.
This folder would have the latest updates before the normal users gets it in the /trunk folder. That way, everyone can help to test it more easily before it's moved to the /trunk folder.
I don't see why it's such a big deal? It's pretty simple, if it's constrained it will get included - apart from a few things, which SuperLlama is working on.
Is that necessary? At the moment updates seem to be flowing right through, quite quickly. Wouldn't that just slow it down?
Well it's just a suggestion. We'll see what SuperLlama thinks of it. You could be right, though.
The hull area is defined as the set of points from which you can trace in straight lines up and down and in the cardinal directions to hit a floor and at least one non-floor (wall or ceiling).
I don't see too much of a point in a beta folder, but thanks for splitting the files.
CAP. Enough said.
Oh my god I have been waiting for this mod forever thank you thank you thank you!
I fiddled around in spacebuild a bit to see if I could find when these bugs occurred and here's what i came up with:
If you create all of your life support things and then turn the Hull into a GHD you can't actually use any of them due to It acting like they're still located at the visual Hull, and you're standing in the physical Hull which makes them actually really far away, when i created the life support things afterward, you could use all of them (including suit dispensers) just fine.
I only ever had problems with it trying to suffocate me once, and after update 11, i can't get it to happen again
I can't help with the no-clip, because on single player you can no-clip anyway.
hope that helps.
A bug:
If you put GHD on your spaceship, and go in it, you can't pick up your ship from the inside, also, when you're on earth, and you put GHD on your ship, your energy/air/cooltant will go down, while you're still on earth, in your spaceship. I may be late though.
