The only Agalloch I've not gotten into is Ashes Against the Grain. The rest of the main albums are great, some of the EPs are pretty good as well from what I have heard.

I personally wouldn't call it more progressive than anything on a matter of life and death and you have some songs like Running Free and Charlotte the Harlot that I really don't like. While I like some early songs like Iron Maiden and Phantom of the Opera, I prefer them sung by Bruce, and played on the band's more recant set up personally.

I'll give killers a listen though, I haven't given it a proper listen yet as I didn't think Iron Maiden was a great album.

running free sounds like shit on the record, but it's great live. Paul has always said "Killers is the better sounding record, but Iron Maiden has the best songs"

Killer's instrumentals are where it shines, and the "solo" riffs in songs like the section around 1:50 of Drifter

Ashes was my favourite for a long time. It was the album that introduced me to them though so it's definitely got an attachment. Was also the album which got me interested in the Cascadian scene as well as post black metal in general. I just love it

Well by the words of the song Bacchuksen tiellä, you could say that its a drinking song. nice to know that somebody likes song that is sang in finnish language, i think its the best one of them.
