    Welcome to Nazi Zombies 2D, after a few months in development hopefully it will have been worth the wait. Thanks and have fun.
    This game was made as my final project for my software design class in high school, when I get my result for it I'll post all the documentation and what I got for it.
    As of now it is incomplete but I am aiming for a release in early September.

    Updated
    • Players now start with the correct 500 points
    • Revive soda is now available for 3 uses at 500 points while playing solo. The power doesn't need to be on for it to be purchased
    • Increased recoil drastically on weapons intended to be semi automatic
    • Increased overall weapon damage to make them more effective longer
    • The grim reaper power up should no longer disappear while reloading as long as you have extra ammo
    • The keys bound will now be saved in the data folder
    • Zombies will now do more damage, only needing 3 hits instead of 5 to kill you
    • Zombies will now crawl out of the ground instead of just appear
    • Zombies now climb over crates instead of standing next to them doing nothing
    • If you are downed without revive soda, the game now displays the scoreboard and restarts automatically after a while.
    • Changed the way aiming works and should now be compatible with fullscreen (Press F4 to switch modes)
    • Debug information is now shown by pressing F3 in game. Will show FPS and game version.
    • Increased the font size for most HUD elements
    • The tag line will now correctly display which key you can push to interact with a trigger
    • The box in airfield now contains the correct weapons

    Added
    • Doors
    • Barracks on the options menu. Ranking up unlocks new emblem items.
    • Added a score board (accessed by holding control until I fix a problem with the TAB key)
    • A screenshot of the scoreboard is taken after the game has ended
    • Added simple weapon sounds. More will be added as they become available

    Fixed
    • Fixed a spelling error in the map selection
    • Blood is no longer orange red
    • Changes to the box glow so it is now slightly visible while standing at the box
    • Fixed some bugs probably

    If this a joke, not funny. If it's not a joke, Gmod is ruined. It was fun because it was free, I will never pay $10 for a sandbox game. No matter what new stuff you put in there.

    You might want to put all the perks you can get into one machine so its easier to get what you need. Either that or spread all the machines out into different areas instead of one spot where they all are.

    The current level is just a test room, it contains everything I've made so far. In the real levels the perks will be spread out around the map.

    If you are serious about this, then there is no way you can avoid copyright issues because, come on, its Activision. You could just reskin everything and say that it is some other 2d zombie shooter.

    Programming forum don't care for gamemaker games.
    As long as you're using GML and not all "hey guise i maed a game lol."

    Other than that, it reminds me of DOS games for some reason.

    The biggest problem right now is readability. There's not enough contrast and it makes everything look like they're just blending in together.
    One way you could fix it with is by making the background darker, and make the character pop out more.
    You also need to work on making the background look less like tiles cut and pasted together, make it seem seamless.
    Everything looks so flat, work on making them stand out. Work with shadows to produce volume!

    I've never been good at tilesets or 2d lighting. I might have to look for help for them after I've handed it in (no outside work is allowed for it).

    After feeling lazy for not having worked on the game for awhile I coded up the master server for the server lists and stats etc. Its 100% done except the client side is at 0%. The only work is setting up the menus to draw correctly which I will do after school tomorrow.

    From there it should be easy for players to connect to one another, port forwarding will most likely be necessary. Because I am smart I coded the players in a way that they are being controlled by a "control client" rather than direct input, what this means is that when you enter a game of zombies all the game has to do is change 1 variable and control of different players is given to the client with the corresponding ID.

    All that is left is to program the networking into the game so that key presses and key steps in zombies and triggers are synced between player and server. Should take me less than an hour if I keep motivation.

    Experimental co-op should be released tomorrow!

    Also planning on doing the art for power ups and coding them into the game tomorrow, along with allowing the zombies to hit players. Whether I create the art for players downed depends on my motivation.
