Humans are covered in hair when in the womb, though it disappears (save the top of the head), so it only stands to reckon that Dwarves are even hairier and it doesn't all go away.

Ladies and gentlemen, I come to this thread bearing bad news.

The sleeping during everything hammerlord passed away today due to infections caused by the DANGER ROOM. He will be remembered and honored by a statue garden on Z-14. The service will be tomorrow.

(Then again, he waited like four months until he went to the doctor. VV)

I'm a bit late, but 10 should do it. (as already said)
To be honest, 5 should shatter bones, but 15+ will nearly always guarentee a nice little splatter, and 20+ will be a fountain of glorious body parts.

If you are using the masterwork mod like I suspect you are I suggest disabling zombies unless you have countless weapons traps or countless suicidal dwarfs because only chopping off the head will kill it.

I got to 203, but having an intel q8200 clocked at 2.33 GHz led to it dying in a horrible death due to FPS issues.
That's what I get for having one of the early quad cores, and not trusting myself enough to overclock it.

They are pretty shittier and here is a quote from the mod-maker
"You have to cut of the head. No arrows, no hammers, no golem, no mines, all that wont work. But really, if you dont like them, just turn them off"

DF only uses one, which is why I run DF abysmally.
I allocate everything to three cores, and DF to the fourth, but I still can't go too large.

    Devlog/Month Report
In order to finish, I have Threetoe's list of issues that came up during testing, a little more map maintenance, and the SDL updates. February seems like a safe bet now, since nothing that has come up should really be that time consuming to fix, and anything minor that comes up can be fixed after a release rather than before if it comes down to it.

There are many new players that haven't been around for a release before, so I'd like to remind everybody that there tend to be several smaller releases after a large one to clean things up (on a scale of a few weeks or even days depending on the severity of the problems), and as usual we're aiming to fix many old problems as well as the new ones that will inevitably appear. Thanks to everybody that helped out last month! We're really looking forward to seeing everybody have fun with the upcoming release.

    um, what?

earlier quad cores aren't that bad. I hardly notice the difference between my q9300 desktop and i7 laptop, if I ever do at all.

It's not that it's a quadcore that makes it bad, it's the low clock speed in my particular one relative to more modern processors.
Either way, I still run it well, just not as well as I'd like.
