Infinite meat, bones and leather.
Butcher kittens when they're born.
Or pen them under a bridge and then accidentally pull a certain lever...
Having a breeding pair of dogs is safer but less consistent. No one seems to give a fuck about puppies.
I use geese. I can either get eggs from them, or five billion goslings.
I use dogs for meat and turkeys or peahens (normally peahens) for my eggs.
Peahens grow up in a single year and have a fair egg and bone yield.
Dogs are just damn useful.
My axeman adventurer just died. He charged this cave that I thought was a megabeast cave because there are like thirty of them. Turns out hundreds of Kolbolds decided to live there. When I got there my hand was immediately sliced up. using only my shield and feet I killed 40 kolbolds mostly shattered skulls. Then I dropped my shield and picked up my axe. I then proceeded to kill 30 kolbolds. My guy was fighting a miner but instead of dodging to the right he dodged to the left and drowned in a lake. Final Kolbold casualties: 80 Notable kolbolds plus a couple others
How do I add exotic animals like Badgers and Grizzlybears to my military?
Grizzlies can't normally be trained, but black bears can.
This leads me to my follow-up question of will I need to start a new fortress if I edit the raws to add [TRAINABLE] to my grizzly?
I found a curious structure on 0z level, it was filled with miasma and over 80 undead/skeletal/zombie deers/buzzards and some other stuff. They all dissapeared in the depths. I kill two skeletal buzzards with ease but i fear the others may come soon.
I'm the Incinerated Dike. Should I be glad or sad about this image?
Huh. Grizzle Bear is already set to [TRAINABLE] in the raws. I am confuse
Before (when i really had no idea how to play this) i managed to 'kill' the entire demon army by filling my tunnels accidently with magma and water thus killing them in obsidian.
I'm not good with Raws, so here's what it says:
Code:NAME:grizzly bear:grizzly bears:grizzly bear] [CASTE_NAME:grizzly bear:grizzly bears:grizzly bear] [CHILD:1][GENERAL_CHILD_NAME:grizzly bear cub:grizzly bear cubs] [CREATURE_TILE:'B'][COLOR:6:0:0] [NATURAL] [PETVALUE:500] [PET] [TRAINABLE] [MOUNT_EXOTIC] [LARGE_ROAMING][FREQUENCY:2] [POPULATION_NUMBER:2:3] [CLUSTER_NUMBER:1:1] [BIOME:FOREST_TAIGA] [BIOME:ANY_TEMPERATE_FOREST] [CURIOUSBEAST_EATER] [CURIOUSBEAST_GUZZLER] [GRASSTRAMPLE:0] [LARGE_PREDATOR] [NO_WINTER][MEANDERER] [PREFSTRING:strength]
Grizzly Bears are 100% meant to be trainable for war or hunting. Try replacing [TRAINABLE] with [TRAINABLE_WAR].
aw 55 new posts thought update was out you bastards
funion why do i see you everywhere i look
What's this update supposed to add again?
Try changing [MOUNT_EXOTIC] to [MOUNT]
Discovered that, unfortunately, it's impossible to cut down trees and get more then just logs as products (thereby making my attempt at creating incense somewhat more difficult.)
Already finished making some mundane food items though, adding tomatoes, carrots, cabbage and potatoes to this growing list of additional food items. To be honest, I'm considering giving them less "realistic" names.
make everything a variation of plump helmets like orange pointy plump helmets and round red plump helmets
Kobold ran past a fisherdwarf, stabbed him in a heart, then continued running.
I do believe that kobold was Sam Fisher himself.
I love how it was only yesterday that I figured out you could carve stone stairs instead of painstakingly channeling out the ground and have your miners build up with the stone with them. (And if there wasn't stone, they'd be f'd.)
Experienced my first goblin assault, only 3 dwarves dying
I have two questions:
1)Is there an easier way to read all the battlelogs?
2)How to properly bury a dwarf?
Got bored of a fort.
Drowned everyone inside.
I am beginning to see the value in this.
Where is the announcement log file located?
