why bmp, why?
I almost posted a 10000x10000 .bmp containing the text "I can also use large, obnoxious file formats that take fucking forever to load, even on my connection.", but so far I've managed to restrain myself.
It loads fine for me. Do you all check the filenames of every picture you see?
Because that must get tedious.
Converted anyway you big babies.
10000x10000? small time
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22254898/funny.bmp
It took 2 seconds to load and it loaded from bottom to top.
After that it's just a matter of microseconds before the brain connects the facts.
no my internet is really slow.
Edited:
and bmp is a really really really stupid format.

732 MB. Jesus. What is it?
A very large one, at that.
I had to open it in Photoshop, Photo Viewer was taking too long.
I just saved it as a .PNG, it's still 17.1mb.
It loaded faster than I could blink so the fact that it loads from bottom to top would be unnoticeable.
PCSX2 guys just released experimental multithreading for PS2's VU1 unit. You should definitely try it out.
More info here

Oooooo.
Edited:
I'm dumb, how do I download this?
I'm gonna upload compiled one in a sec. Also you need 3+ core CPU obviously and you'll only notice it in games that heavily rely on the VU1.
You have to compile it? Fuck.
Download it right here
SSSE3/SSE4 Gsdx not included as I don't own Intel CPU.
Getting nice speedup in MGS3S. Haven't tested any cutscenes yet though.
Holy shit GT4 is running at fullspeed! I am in heaven.
Woohoo, thanks man. How did you compile it though? What do I need?
I followed this guide, but it's messed up right now
http://code.google.com/p/pcsx2/wiki/...uideForWindows
Basically you need Visual Studio 2008/2010 Professional, DirectX SDK, Windows SDK and then set their paths in VS. After you set it up you can just build them.
OR
You can wait until this bot compiles them
http://buildbot.orphis.net/pcsx2/
Well shit.
For real??
Oh god this'll be better than last Christmas :haw:
Yeah it's the NTSC version. I am sure it would run even better on i5-i7, because my 965 just can't beat them.
Also I played MGS3 yesterday and it has nice speedboost overall, too plus they fixed the corrupted reflections, so water and Sokolov's glasses properly reflect stuff. If they manage to make VU0 threaded as well and someone will make decent OpenGL plugin I'd say PCSX2 might get really interesting.
Just won my first Arcade race with Subaru Impreza. Overall nice smooth 60fps with some fps drops to 50fps max when there is a lot of things going on. Didn't notice them much in fullscreen. EE is usually at 80% load, GS at 60-70% and VU 45% so this means this new hack really helps if you have 3-4 core CPU for sure.
Playing some conkers bad fur day
:byodood:
Its like hurf life.
I'm still getting that corruption shit in MSG3. And GT4 didn't work for me at all. :c
NNoonOO CONKER
This is what it looks like for me + Gsdx settings (default mostly). All speedhacks except VU stealing.

playing tatsunoko vs capcom on dolphin
Thought I'd bump this because we need an emulation thread and it's not that old
I've been playing SSX3 on Dolphin, it looks great. I'll post some screens tomorrow.
Skyward sword looks delicious on Dolphin, by the way
Got NES and SNES emulators working on my Wii. And now I have to get the Megadrive one working.
And maybe a PSX and N64 ones too.
Almost got no$gmb working well enough on a 20mhz 386.
Problem is that it becomes a slideshow if I enable sound support or switch off full-frame redraw.
Hm, I should try that on my AST 486. I'm sure it should be fast enough.
There's optimized x86 versions for most of the early CPU's. Make sure you get the 486 optimized version.
MIPS you never cease to amaze me with your huge array of old computers.
PCSX2 is a troll emulator.
I'm playing Ace Combat 5 arcade mode. In software DX11 and the right hacks the game runs beautifully.
Right up until I need to hit something bigger than a fighter.
The "physics" don't work at all (really just collision detection), missiles an bullets go straight through the C130, the only thing which can hit it is the FALKEN death ray, but you don't get that thing until you complete the game twice (!!).
Also you can fly through the ground for the same reasons.
I've tried every combination of emulation settings - even the interpreter (oh god). The worst thing is that the git commit logs make a lot of mention of Ace Combat 4 (which is the same engine), but none of the builds work.
I just want my ace combat is that too much to ask?
Edited:
I will admit that even getting it in this state is a tremendous accomplishment, it's amazing what does work. Oh well, the PS2 isn't endangered, it's still being made!
Apparently, the normal Windows version runs perfectly fine. I have no idea if sound works, since the laptop lacks the ability to. But it seems to run Pokemon Yellow full speed even hitting 110% randomly.
Apparently this thing has more power than I thought.
Green version. Heh heh.
I actually managed to complete Pokemon Green when I was uh, 7-8, maybe? I had no idea what was going on, but I beat it anyway. Of course it helped that I'd already done Blue, Red and Yellow by this point but I still figured it was fairly impressive.
good times.
I remember playing the Japanese version of Pokemon Gold before it was released in English. I got stuck at the Unown puzzle.
to be fair, I got stuck at the unown puzzles in the english version.
It's optional though, fortunately.
Ya, but I didn't know that at that time, so I gave up.
Can someone help me I am trying to play Tony Hawks Underground 2 on Dolphin but when I start it, it has a grey screen and nothing happens

Tomb Raider album!
The emulator is EPSXE 1.7 and these are the settings I used, it was pretty stable though so you can likely tweak it for better quality.
Important Note: The first and second Tomb Raider have to be played from the disc because they have a CD Audio track. It causes a lot of weirdness if you play from an ISO (Pause crashes the game, no music, random crashing)
If you cannot find your original disc but still have a copy that you legally ripped to your hard drive you can still burn it onto a blank CD. (I used Alcohol 120% since mine was in .mds/.mdf form.)
I'm currently trying to find a CD Rom plugin that uses a cache for the CD Audio because whenever it tries to play it the entire game hangs until the CD Drive boots back up (I'm playing on a laptop.)
Edit:
I used imgburn to redump the disc as a .bin file, then used Daemon Tools to mount it and the default CD Rom plugin with the 'Enable subchannel read from cdrom.' option UNCHECKED. Works perfectly now but make sure to use savestates just in case.
Having a GBA emulator on my iPod makes for fun bus trips
Aah the nostalgia of playing Yugioh
Now if only that fucker would stop STACKING EQUIP CARDS
He managed to get up to 4500 attack :saddowns:
