It seems for me that the lift tool only likes working when you face a certain direction; I used to always get it to work just changing the position of my player between each try.
Edit: that still works, apparently...

Tried it from just about every angle, resetting every time (Doesn't even work if you don't reset between uses)
Still no luck.
How long has it been like this for?

I just get the last svn and working on building a ship and i use all advanced skin but i'm surprise that door have only 1 skin.
any way for put advanced skin on door ?

Try using the skin changer tool, it worked for me.

Not sure, a week or two, maybe longer? I've been rather unmotivated recently, then decided I wanted to make a mostly vertical ship and found the lift tool had failed.

I don't see any sliding door tool in the menu. Only lifts and beam cannon?

Stupid question: Where is the svn for LS3 and PewPew?
Also, how do you install this svn, because it contains Addons. Are you just supposed to do a svn checkout on your Addons folder?

Svn checkout to a new folder. then put all 5 SBEP folders in the addons folder.

2: Stop using annoying bloody smilies.
3: Did you buy GMod?
4: Did you update your SVN?
5: Did you remove any addons that aren't compatible?

I just reinstalled gmod. For this do I need life support or that custom addon framework? Its been a while, I don't remember most of this.

The requirements are in the OP, you can and it has been a lot of recommendations to use PewPew instead of Gcombat.

I can officially declare, that not only does the lift designer eventually work, but when it does, it grabs the cameras of ALL players on a multiplayer server, which, to my great amusement, allowed me to fill my friend's elevator with jargon when he used the tool. I then told him not to use the tool anymore, and just built an elevator for him with the MPC.

ok so i got all this stuff ..went and got the wiremode and some stuff i dont know what the fuck
i can't seem to find Life Support 3 anywhere though ... anyone have?
also fucking hell all this is going to be fun to install.

to be more specific i don't want to go through all of this to find out i installed something the wrong way or something silly..which has happened before.
and some of this is not the usual drag into addons and drop stuff
also i honestly can't seem to find LS3 anywhere. There is a version on garrysmod (the only one i can find) but it was flagged for a virus.
i have everything besides LS3
EDIT: should probably also say i haven't played gmod in years so i'm a little (lot) rusty..just reinstalled a few days ago due to girlfriend discovering gmod lol

but what's a svn seed then? ..is that just another name for it or what?

An SVN seed is a folder that contains none of the addon content, only svn:\\ links to the repositories. This makes it very small, usually under 300 kiB in size. If you place the folder in addons and update it, it'll download all the content automagically, without any of the hassle of getting URLs and such.

Hey I've been getting back into gmod recently and was trying to get this installed and working,but I can't seem to get Gcombat 08 is that still needed or not?

Gcombat is needed, But you should get PewPew instead. it's better and still compatible with SBEP

You need both. I didn't get it to work when i used a normal SVN but this program helped out with that. It also tells you which parts are necessary for Spacebuild maps to work properly

My SBEP is not working I have everything I need but when I play Gmod the models,entities and vehicles
do not show up in my menu and I do not know why. I have re-downloaded and have tried some other
things but they do not work, Any help will be greatly appreciated.

All the folders in the SBEP SVN folder need to be extracted to addons if you haven't done so already.

Don't mind this post. I figured it out.
New problem:
My lift designer is suddenly acting up. When I left click, nothing happens. And if I manage to spawn a lift it doesn't show the interface.
Ideas?

Are yo sure that the file path you gave the program is right and that the addons are not saved somewhere else like directly under C:I use that, but it tells me that I already have it, but I have checked my addons folder and it is not there.

Yes, I installed Pew Pew using it and it shows up in-game, I also checked the settings I gave the program.
