Just get the Arch core image and install what YOU NEED.
Just get the Arch core image and install what YOU NEED.
At this point, i'd rather not - i've heard a lot about how hard it is to set up Arch.
While i'm here though, how can I set this graph to have a Y-axis of 3000kb/s?
using Conky, obv.Code:${downspeedgraph eth0}
It's not hard AT ALL.
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners'_Guide
Just follow that guide exactly. I say 2 hours and you'll have a workable setup running.
Yeah, I made the LCD background and glass as two images, before merging them. The clock's numbers are Conky, so it updates the time in 1 second intervals. I also displayed the time twice, to get the LCD's shadow effect.
ah, I see.
Do you have two seperate conky processes running there?
Nope. Let me package my script so you can take a look. :3

Now i'm done fiddling:
Stil working on the clock font.
Damn Small Linux

Too bad that it wasn't updated for 944 days and it's still running the 2.4 kernel.
You should check out SliTaz and Puppy Linux.
Forget Puppy. It's frustrating and annoying to use.
but you can pretty much just hold down enter for the actual install. After that it's up to selecting what you want on your system then waiting a bit.
Edited:
of course you'll have to do whatever configuration your various packages require (copying/generating config scripts, things like that) and get a wireless daemon working if you're on a laptop, but it's a really snappy system once you've got it going.
Install mint without the extra shit, it will fit on a CD.

Scroll down, CD with no codecs.
Haven't posted for a while, so here goes:
My main desktop:
I downloaded the revelation script from the Awesome wiki. For those who don't know what revelation is, it has the same functionality as Compiz fusion's expo and OSX' Exposé. I really liked it, but I hated not being able to interact with it using the mouse. The only thing I could do was use the arrow keys and press enter to select a window and escape to exit the revelation. So I edited the script.
Here's it in action:
In this screenshot I have two windows open in total. I was in the train and my internet wasn't working, hence the "web page is not available". To the revelation script I added the following features:
- Select a window by left clicking it
- Close a window by right clicking it (very useful when you have a lot of windows open)
- Enable mouse input in windows with middle mouse button (the idea was that you could copy and paste things, didn't work out that well)
On a sidenote: the libreoffice document that is currently open in the screenshot is my maths homework. Libreoffice writer is quite awesome with maths. Combine it with Inkscape for graphs and you're set!
My scripts!
Crunchbang with Faenza:

I always found Faenza to be way too square. It looks good though.
I think this install of Arch will stop my distro hopping.
Installed it just last night, still tweaking.
Just checking to see if my theme works on a dark wallpaper.

This is easily one of the best pictures I've ever taken.

I got dwm close to how I would like it.

I just need to get some more information, and better formatted in the top right corner.
dwm was fun for a while.
that was also around the time when I thought gentoo was fun.
those days are long gone, for me.
now that's a fine desktop.
I love those easy to read, super small fonts, i wish windows had them - i would use them everywhere in the UI :saddowns:
Speaking of that font, it does look nice. What font is it?
Not a desktop, but oh my, am I in heaven?

how did you change your tags, whenever I try it doesn't work and instead reverts back to default
ok sorry
Edited:
Well I'm using "lime" from the Artwiz collection, and it looks like kraffslol is using the same one.
Facepunch is angry.
htop is heaven?
Calling it now.
Pixel heart.
everyone already knows That Person is rizzo/pixelheart, you're at least 2 days late
Great work, detective.![]()
What's so noteworthy about rizzo/pixelheart?
Pedophile.
Not just that, he pretends to be women and fantasizes about killing people only to blend them into smoothies and feed them to sex slaves. Overall he's a pleasant guy.
Baby steps with dwm :)
good color palette
