Word from the wise, if your going to make a black and white one with the one that makes everything out of dots, take your image into an advanced image editor such as Photoshop or Gimp and pump up the contrast to where the lights are white and the darks are black, the dot making thing doesn't do so well with greys.

but the dots look coolest when properly graduated in size, instead of just on or off.

Printed on heavy paper in a copy shop (the crappy color laser printer kind of killed the colors, though).
It took around 40 minutes to cut the edges (all I had was a utility knife) and to hang it on the wall (I love blue-tack), and the cutting/hanging jobs weren't very precise, but I think it looks great!

I found this a very great idea. My walls have been empty for too long.

Not perfect, but it's okay for because it was the first time. Couple of empty walls to go. Hopefully will do better on those.

all i know is when i put in my Banksy thing from the OP the middle of his body was all black, the original color was like a dark grey so

I remember doing this a long time ago, in my old computer room. I started relatively small, with a 2x3 mudkip, and it just got stupider from there. I'll spare you the photos, but there's still a 5x7 sheet, full colour poster covering one of the walls. If I ever replace it, I'll post pictures

Yes, I'm getting better at it. While this is only a 2x2 sheet, I think it's very pretty. Inspired by Superwafflez BMW.

These are being made at my workplace, which happens to be a fucking cyber-caffe, hnng
I'm planning something big on the next weekend.
Just a tip, but I found out that printing them on a laser printer kind of folds the paper onto a U shape, making the assembly a lot harder.

You should consider lowering the size of 'em dots.
It really helped me to achieve what I wanted.
Also, before rasterbating it, do what Daijitsu said and increase the contrast in photoshop.

I tried my hand at rasterbation (teehee) and this is what I came up with. I decided not to use a shit ton of color ink so the picture is a little bit more boring than the color counterpart, but I think it still turned out pretty good!

I'm digging through all my crap to find something worth putting up. I can print any of my photos at 72 dpi and reach 69"x45" and it'll still look damn sexy as a whole, albeit my printer will hate me. Might just settle for a black'n'white shot and make it all dotty, it'd look good as an installation in the office.
