That cable looks awkwardly short.
That cable looks awkwardly short.
now with a shitty turntable :kiddo:
Didn't see the light under it was so obtrusing before it was too far into the render to stop.
I love you larry :D

It's done :)
The same type of assignment as Jeggis, and what I've been streaming these three weeks.
That polished up really nicely man! Looks fantastic!
On a personal note, I've now setup a render farm in my house with all my computers, this is making life so much quicker and easier!
Ajacks you are the most interesting person I have seen, please, please document your life
School assignment, which I never had to finish, because the teacher was impressed as it was. vv
Testing some indirect illumination and physics in Blender. I started learning Blender only a week ago, and I don't know whether to love or hate it's user interface...
Any tips on how to improve this?
The motionblur is way overdone.
Yeah, I expected it to look okay, but it just looks stupid :)
And not high enough quality to be acceptably overdone.
Don't use Blender Internal to render stills or animations.
Use an external renderer.
Yafaray, Vray, LuxRender or Cycles.
I will look into it... Thanks.
Loving this, able to render a 50 frame 600x600px turntable animation of an object in Vray in just about a minute. This is a publishing dream...
Rendered in Blender 2.57 with Cycles.
GPU Mode, 100 passes per frame, 180 frames, 3s per frame.
YouTube quality is bad.

I'm working on a PzIV, any suggestions? (low experience alarm)

The colors are not historically accurate.
I'm already in love with Cycles! (Quick test render below)
3 sec. per frame?!? What GPU do you have? The image below took 24 sec. (100 passes) with a GTX 285...
(Also: If I select many objects in Blender, but want to unselect one or two of them how do I do that?)

Holy shit Maxwell Render is amazing

Since there's a few school assignments going round, I'll post one that I finished recently.
GTX 460 @850MHz Core Clock
Shift+RMB twice.
Shift+RMB once if it is the active object. (active object = light orange color)
In the second image, the floor tile textures look like they need some anisotropic filtering. Or was it meant to be DoF?
Anyways, they look awesome!

Thank you!

Just priced my next workstation rig, looking at about $3k. It's going to be hard to move away from gaming GPU's...
God dammit Ajacks, give me another GTX 480 while you're at it.
Hey hey hey I'm running dated equipment as it is, it's been years since I've upgrades, I'm due.
And sure, as long as you become a Truax slave worker.
If only I were skilled enough to work for some studio like Truax. :frown:
Oh well, something I can aspire to. :buddy:
Make your own studio and pretend you're as cool as Ajacks. That's what I do when I model. Though I don't usually model New York City - I model bins and fountains... badly.
"Stop"
TrueAcks. Trademarked to me.

Just kidding. Stay awesome, Ajacks. :h:
I'm busy re-rendering like thirty old weapon models I did years ago to increase sales. It's been a boring day...
I read it as "Stay away, Ajacks"![]()
Hammertime?
Someone should title next thread "we're only doing rendering most of the time"
yes with a personal render farm. we all pity you.![]()
Gave me the chance to watch an entire season of a new TV series I hadn't seen before. People are shocked at how many movies and shows I've seen, thank you netflix for keeping the barrel of a gun out of my mouth.
Blender does not want to do what I want it to do right now :saddowns:
I hope someone here is able to help me?
I set up the necessary stuff to give my animation/image some depth of field with nodes and all that (just like in this simple tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYbVkJqz3BI), but somehow it's not working.
Here's some screenshots (1.3 MB):

You don't need nodes for DOF with cycles.
Remove the nodes and enable Lens Radius.
The Z buffer doesn't work with Cycles at the moment.
Yay! Thank you so much for taking the time to answer me! :D
