Great map, seriously! Scarier moments than ghosthunt one, well done! But is the blast door closest to the pit (under boards) to the catacombs supposed to be locked or something? Because it wouldn't open, and we couldn't figure out what to do...

-EDIT- Nvm, solved that puzzle. Seems easy now I look back on it. The skulls really make it way scarier, but I'm glad they're optional.

From just walking around on top of the boards, there didn't seem to be a way to get down other than to spawn a weapon (in my case a grenade) and break them manually. Was there supposed to be something that triggers that path to open up or were we supposed to come across it by accident like I did(except without noclip)?   

I found it with my crowbar and ended up exploring down there. I don't think there's any other way to open it up. Maybe, after some exploring, an earthquake knocks some of them out?

this map is much better using the glowsticks it reminds you playing a source engine version of penumbra
forgot to mention i welded the camera and the detector to a combine scanner to follow me and worked very good

I must say, this is VERY detailed, and the poltergiest (smoke monster thing) was INCREDIBLY scary. I only ever saw him in 2 places, but it was still scary.

After decomping it (not for stealing, just plain curiosity)
I really started appreciating the amount of work put into it, especially the "weegee" board,
although i would have made it spell out stuff, like names, not just complete random letters and stuff.

The floor monster things were a bit predictable, we could see the model was the itchysaur after the first 3.

With the server command you should have sent "sbox_godmode 0" so it could actually affect people, my friends and i locked ourselves in the rock room for 20 minutes before realizing we were supposed to die.

Also, why do you need sv_cheats on? (i dont think you can activate that through point commands anyways)

Loved the little easter eggs, did you ever state the asylum's name was Hartley asylum?

It's a shame screen effects are broken in GMod, i saw the console spitting out all these effects that would really add to the experience, but, alas, GMod chokes up on them. you can make an effect LIKE the ones you were trying with the built-in gmod render effects, not as good as the original, but at least it's something.

Finally, what is your FPS on this map? I only get about 40 starting out, and then i sometimes drop down to about 12 FPS.

Overall, i LOVE these maps, and i can't wait for GH3, AND I AM NOT READY TO FACE IT ALONE! well, i am, i just find it more fun to have other people along for the ride.

OH, i forgot, have you thought about striping player's weapons, then giving them just the gravity gun and a crowbar? that would work out AWESOMELY

yup, just pull the lever and it randomly chooses a letter or other, it has no effect on the map at all, it's just a fun little extra

yeah, but you also get a toolgun, and people abuse that, and you can strip and give weapons directly from the map, so it just seemed easier, sents and props should also be disabled, people like spawning balls for health and combine balls to light up areas (i turned off the flashlights :3)

I enabled weapons for that moment so everyone had guns, i restarted the server and you only spawn with a grav gun if i am correct (still experimenting with shit)

in gmod, right? did you sacrifice the middle, white skull? that would explain the black, gmod screws up with certain things, so it may be just gmod and the map, but it sounds like it might, MIGHT be your graphics card dying (or overheating, or just deciding to crap out on you)

It would happen to him after we would play for no more than 5 minutes. I think some map event triggers it. He can close gmod and as far as I know everything else was normal.

just played it in episode 2
(by the way, why do we need HL2, ep. 1, and ep. 2 if it runs just fine in episode 2? ep. 2 has all HL2 stuff, and most ep.1 stuff so...)
and it's quite a bit creepier, i saw a bit more of the events, and I was more scared because i didn't have access to my over-powered gmod tools.
and performance is MUCH greater in episode 2, I'm getting a minimum of 80 FPS now

that 5 minute window could be causing a problem with the graphics card, try it in EP. 2 and see if it's any better, if not, it's just you, and very few map events actually mess with your vision (esp. in GMod) or you could try leaving the game running while not doing anything, but if it's a random event, then that won't help..
