I don't know how this happened, but I wish I had recorded what I was saying on Skype when it did.
Something along the lines of "RAAAAAAAAARGH THAT'S SOME SUPER SAYAIN BULLSHIT RIGHT THERE BITCHES". I was happy.

So uh I'm usually going degreaser + flare gun pyro, but ever since the new update, I've been considering going back to the stock flamethrower. So I got a strange one and switched to shotgun. It was beautiful, I could actually take on groups of people rather than picking individual people off with crit flares and felt more of an "ambush" pyro then I've ever been like before. My only complaint was that I was less dependent on my back scratcher, but then again, kills with it felt more rewarding.
TL;DR Degreaser +Flare users, consider switching to the Stock + Shotgun and see how that goes, cause it sure as hell worked for me, and I'm sticking with it.

The Stock Flamer is such a wonderful weapon, but.. but.... I JUST NEED THAT SWITCH OUT SPEED MAN. I GOTTA HAVE IT. sigh. Losing that speed boost from the Attendant set was hard enough for some reason.

For some reason, I can rock the rainblower excellently, but crash and burn using the stock. Is it the pretty colors?

I never use the Rainblower, it's too hard to see past the barely translucent (if at all) rainbows that it fires.

The rainbows don't actually fire on my client view much at all. The particles are created but they kind of just stick to the end of the flamethrower instead, making it look odd, no matter how much I throw my mouse around. Others' rainblower streams I can see fine, it's actually easier for me to see when firing with the rainblower than the flamethrower because I don't get a split second of difficult visibility when turning right and firing at the same time.

The switch speed is really important if you want to utilize all the tools of the pyro. Being able to switch from shotgun/flame thrower/melee is incredibly useful. No one can possibly counter a quick puff n sting if you're using the degreaser for switching.
I used to use the scorch shot a lot because it was useful for spamming areas where people might be and occasionally get an afterburn on someone, but I find that the shotgun is much, much more useful. I wish there where more shotgun items other than the reserve shooter.

Last I checked, the vintage facade was a refined. Even without the desc tag, you lost a good 2 rec there.

The fed was craftable.
Two rec doesn't seem like a lot though. I was willing to trade a lot more because the item was worth a lot to me. Maybe if I traded like four refined worth I might be mad but I don't think it's much of a loss.

Maybe it's a personal thing, but I traded an item I don't care about for an item I'd trade a shit ton for. I'd think I got a good idea.

Played a lovely game on 2fort (yeah yeah huhuhuhue)
Went to go have a look at the intel room as a Spy. (I do that so often, just taunt in the intel room till someone shows up).
Engie walks in and starts setting up, I watch him do it from a corner.
Walk outside and see friendly Heavy come down.
Team chat tell him there's a sentry around the corner.
We co-ordinate, I sap and he wrecks everything.
He grabs the intel and the real fun begins!
Enemy Demoman runs down stairs and launches a crit sticky right next to the Heavy!
Too bad a backstab sorts him out first!
I run up stairs to be greeted by an Engineer.
Run to the side, the Engineer comes back AND GETS A FACE FULL OF BOOLETS!
Didn't see it coming!
Jump down to test the waters, turn and say thanks to the Heavy.
Critrocket. No. I am dead. I have failed you Heavy.
Respawn, GOTTA GO FAST.
Heavy is already running the bridge! RUN HEAVY! GO!
Jump off the balcony, murdering the Medic and Scout behind him!
He stops to eat his Sandvich, so close to death... Fight on brave Heavy!
DEAD RINGER SPY UNCLOAKS BEHIND HIM! NOT TODAY PUNK.
Surprise backstab the spy. Teamwork baby.
Smooth run back to intel, we walk into the intel room and there is a field of stickies at the entrance.
I tell him over team chat: You will live Heavy, your family would be proud.
I run over the stickies and stand no chance at all! Demoman emerges from the corner!
Heavy starts screaming over the mic at this Demoman, tearing him to pieces.
I walk down to the intel room after respawning, to my surprise, the Heavy is still standing there.
His hand in the air.
High five brave man. HIGH FIVE.
tl;dr fucking awesome teamwork with a little drama to boot!

I really think there should be an engie item that makes your dispenser (slowly) overheal people, at the cost of only having a level one sentry.

You just gotta practice the flare aim, i mean it can take out 4 classes with 2 flares, ( 1 does 30 damage + overburn, the other is a crit 90 damage so more than 120+ )
Really the Stock flamethrower is mainly for taking out other pyros and airblasting or taking out huge groups of people, i use the flare to finish off fleeing enemies, and axtinguisher when someone is foolish enough to stick around a pyro.

That's a pretty nice idea actually, I think the handicap there could be slower ammo regeneration time instead.
