I am proud that a fellow FP member opened for one of my favourite bands, and also fairly jealous.

They're Australian, so I'm assuming not very.

I'm yet to hear of anything apart from AC/DC when people try to name aussie bands.

They're getting pretty huge, and have signed with Sumerian in the US. They've played the main stage at the Big Day Out so I guess it's something that a FP member has opened for them.

Interesting, apparently Sumerian have a knack for signing talented bands.

There's an excellent acoustical/blues/funk scene in Australia.

I only know of two people who are actually into it.

I live in Fremantle which is like, the centre of that stuff. I've seen John Butler out for a jog.

There's a reggae scene in Cairns, only a 4 hour drive from Townsville. But it's kind of average.

Melbourne is where all the prog/alt rock and metal is. The scene down here is awesome, we've got bands like Circles, Sydonia, Twelve Foot Ninja etc

We actually opened for Sydonia as well, but they're not really well known despite being awesome and having opened for Lamb of God.

I want to live in Melbourne. The music scene up here is either crappy indie rock or crappy metalcore.

We've got plenty of indie too haha, haven't seen much metalcore but there's certainly enough post-hardcore.

I couldn't care what it is as long as it sounds good, all the shit up here is generic, even the bands are just the same people leaving and making new shit.

there's no post-hardcore or metalcore or anything like that where i live, it's mostly just different kinds of rock and punk.
